  1. Yes. Gave an old boy a lift home once when his old BSA gave up on him. It was raining heavily one evening on the way back from a local bike meet. We hid the bike behind some bushes, he came back with me to pick up my trailer, returned to collect the bike and then dropped them both off at home.
  2. Fitted a Sat Nav bracket/Garmin mount and wired in the Garmin power supply. I had to remove the headlight unit to find the switched ACC2 wires that KTM kindly tuck away behind it. One Garmin between both bikes now. I did buy the My Ride app - its good, but I prefer a dedicated GPS unit.

  3. When riding electric bikes becomes the norm
  4. I'll have a guess - Yamaha.
  5. Its a real shame when it is becomes a struggle to obtain insurance just to ride on the road legally. Everyday I see tweets from GMP commenting on how many uninsured drivers have been stopped, no bloody wonder if its this hard. I wouldn't have thought the area is high risk, unless its in the middle of the racecourse! Edit: should say 'reasonably priced insurance quote'
  6. Ooops, Yeah not having a garage isn't good at all. I wonder if it would make any difference if you had access to a lock up or a shared garage.
  7. Try not to be too disheartened. I think its definitely down to new bike and new rider. You can buy some really good older bikes that are just as good and if not better than some of the bikes of today. My old Beemer was over 15 years old and was a great bike to ride and cheap to insure (£95 fully comp including commuting - granted been riding for 30+ years) when I bought a new MT07 I was shocked by how much my insurance went up by. You can imagine me 'how dare they quote that I've been riding for 100yrs with NCD to boot, do they know who I am'. Take a look at some of the older bikes, you might be pleasantly surprised and good luck in your quest
  8. Top job, it looks like it has certainly made the job easier. Are those safety slippers by any chance
  9. Me too and the plug would only be a temp fix and allow me to ride gingerly until I found the nearest tyre fitters to get the tyre replaced
  10. I thought it was still rock up and queue near me however, I heard an authoritarian chap shout 'you cant come in here with that'. It was quite dark as I drove in, but slowly coming towards me was this figure dressed head to toe in Hi-Viz accompanied with hard hat and ear defenders and clutching his handheld data collector. Me: 'Why not, I've never been stopped before'. 'Ah its the council you know, new rules, you need a permit for a campervan/van/taxi and we must follow the rules'. Me: 'but its neither of those'. Lets just say for the next 10 mins we had a disagreement. By this time a large queue was building up behind me. I was asked to pull up on the left while he called for his supervisor. 'Yep you cant come in here with that without a permit' shouted the supervisor. Me: 'Why not! and its not a campervan/van or taxi'. 'You just cant' said the supervisor 'you need a permit'. We disagreed about the type of vehicle I was driving for 15/20mins. At one point he said to me 'do you think I want to be here at this time of night dealing with you' . Anyhow with that in mind I applied for the permit while sat arguing with the jobsworth. At this point it was getting close to closing time, but at least I had the electronic permit for him to scan. At our waste recycling centre there are signs up saying due to C19 restrictions, operatives are unable to help with the unloading of items for recycling. It was fast approaching closing time, in fact, its was 19:40 and the site closed at 19:45. As I slowly (very slowly) started to unload the cardboard from my vehicle I heard a voice shout out 'can we give you a lift mate' to which I pointed at the sign and said 'sorry I must follow your rules'. I managed to unload everything for 20:00.
  11. I sent an email to HEED last week enquiring about their products. Below is their response. Hopefully it will get sorted soon. Hello Unfortunately because of BREXIT we had to suspend our offer for UK. We need week or 2 to fulfill law rules to start selling again. Please be back after this time. --- Pozdrawiam / Regards ZPH HEED J. Tokarz Częstochowa, Poland NIP: 9491806489 Tel. +48 663464653 E-mail: [email protected] http://www.heed.com.pl
  12. Probably the same place as this one
  13. You might very well work for MI5 but maybe your Governance Dept fails to understand their interpretation of GDPR
  14. Fitted a Speedo Angels screen protector, hardly a challenging task however, these TFT screens need protecting
  15. Scottoiler also do a dual injector accessory but its about £25
  16. I'm no expert, but I have never just gone for the cheapest. I like to make sure I have legal protection. In the past I have gone for the cheapest just to get me on the road, unfortunately I found out the hard way it isn't always the best option.
  17. Don't use flexi pan connectors either!!! Our local authority have ceased baiting the main drains for the last two years, with the amount of rain we have had it has forced them pesky rats above ground, they have made their way up waste pipes and started to chew through the flexi pan connectors (the flexi pan connectors are now banned on our projects)
  18. Good idea. Better to fit now rather than later. We use these on many of our Kitchen installs, stop tap usually tucked away under the sink and difficult to access, especially helpful for the elderly with arthritis.
  19. If you haven't got them already - isolation valves and don't use cheap flexi connectors.
  20. I have the Cobrra Nemo 2. I just purchased my second one. I noticed it said it was designed by Cobrra in Slovakia, somewhere it probably says in very small print 'manufactured in China'
  21. I think all motorcycle dealers act in a similar way, and all have good and bad points. I got a recall notice in 2015 for my 2005 GS. BMW issued a recall for the rear wheel flange, they recalled 43K bikes built between 2003/2011. No issues at all, phoned my nearest dealer and booked it in, great service to be fair and free coffee . I never had the bike dealer serviced either. I don't know how the manufacturers recall a bike that has been sold on and never dealer serviced.
  22. Just been browsing HEED Crash Bars website - no option for UK delivery. .
  23. I would have to include half a dozen pee breaks.
  24. Off to a good start
