You wait a lifetime for a first then they all come along together

So I am on my way to work minding my own business when this taxi decides to turn right into a driveway with no warning. RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!

Before I know it I am being blue lighted to hospital where they inform me I'll be in the operating theatre before the day is out. Tibia plateau fracture needs a plate to hold three pieces of my tibia together. Now I am home in agony and looking forward to the 8 - 12 weeks totally off my feet and a further God knows how long in physio.

In that split second my list of firsts are:

Accident

ambulance ride

blue light

in hospital

broken bone

Bike is a right off but thankfully, before I even left hospital, his insurance company called me and admitted total liability. Now to see how much of a payout I'll get! Bike is a rite off and I'm off work for a minimum of three months.

Not good, hope you get a good pay out and recover well. Do you get to go bike shopping with the insurance?

It was Southmead ... they were fantastic. Couldn't have asked for better care.

Thanks for all of your messgaes guys. It hurts like f*ck but I am sure it'll ease in time. Saving grace is that I shouldn't have a fight on my hands because he has accepted total liability.

Yet another SMIDSY gone sour! I was only travelling at about 15 mph too. Othe biker piss down that road at 40 + despite it being a 20 mph speed limit.
