Steve_M Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 Good morning. We have one estimate for the kitchen refit. Not quite as bad as we expected, though we may change that as we’ve* had a rethink about the design. *When I say “we’ve” I will point out that my part was nodding in agreement. 4 Quote

My latest bit of DIY has become more complex simple Hall and landing refresh with new carpet (professionally fitted not me) has now developed into levelling the entrance floor. I foolishly wanted to change the small bit of flooring as you come in the front door. Oh well least ill know it's done right. Just prepping the floor to level it Wednesday with any luck 1 Quote
husoi Posted February 15, 2022 Posted February 15, 2022 Good morning everybody while considering where I will spend my (hopefully long) retirement years South Asia has been in my horizon for several years. Why? Well, first weather is far better than UK, people are generally very friendly and cost of living is far cheaper than UK. The options have been: 1 - Malaysia 2 - Vietnam 3 - Thailand Being the last option the Philippines Just found a wee problem with Vietnam... Although I guess all other options won't be much different. S-Westerly Posted February 15, 2022 Author Posted February 15, 2022 Malaysia isn't particularly well disposed to long term expats and is not that cheap either. Quote

Just prepping the floor to level it Wednesday with any luck Mid mix on the floor levelling compound and my trusty drill decided to end it all in a flurry of smoke and sparks. Thankfully managed to mix sufficiently to get the floor sorted! 2 Quote
Yorky Posted February 15, 2022 Posted February 15, 2022 It looks like you've very cleverly managed to level the skirting board at the same time Quote
MikeHorton Posted February 15, 2022 Posted February 15, 2022 I had to open the front door and that being the last corner it was a bit of a bugger. It will sand off when dry. The whole hallway will get painted over then. Another job ticked off the list 1 Quote
Steve_M Posted February 15, 2022 Posted February 15, 2022 I was bought a trail cam as a present last year. I’ve discovered the timelapse feature on it so set it up in the paddock a couple of days ago. I’m quite pleased with my first attempt of catching the cloud formations changing over the course of an afternoon. I’ve put it on Google Drive so I can share it… Link 3 Quote

dynax Posted February 18, 2022 Posted February 18, 2022 Good morning While working at a customers yesterday, a conversation ended up with me looking at a VW based trike, it is 6 years old and only done 400 miles, it was MOT'd about a year ago but never moved since, it is in lovely condition though. 1600 air cooled VW engine not sure what the front end is, it was built professionally by B&I Engineering in Huddersfield. Not sure what the market price would be but I was thinking of putting in an offer of £2500-£3000 for it as it is. Quote

dynax Posted February 19, 2022 Posted February 19, 2022 Good morning Seen a lovely CBR125r with the full Repsol livery 2016 model for £3500, only trouble is I have no where to keep it out of sight as it would be a thief magnet Quote
