Bender Posted December 30, 2021 Posted December 30, 2021 So whilst playing songs and annoying alexa couple of nights ago it transpired that she forgot who I was, funny at time didn't think much of it. Fast forward tonight, went into amazon on TV, Hmmm profiles all gone save for a new one called Karl..... Odd, scroll through recent watch list, nothing any of us have watched, Ohh bugger has account been compromised. TV app took wobbly as Karl was now main account holder, had to delete app on TV, sign out of everything, change password, sign back in, checked for any un authorised purchases, luckily non, wife's phone is set up to get notifications so should have been notified. Called daughter as they share, thought best inform her, Ohh I sold one of our tvs which had amazon on it. 4 Quote

Bender Posted December 31, 2021 Author Posted December 31, 2021 Alexa does state it was something it found on the internet, Alexa and other voice assistants just make it easier for crap like that to get out, it's been doing the rounds on other platforms for a while. I have set alexa to disable keeping any voice or search records and have pin set for any purchases I've had a small echo dot for a while but never used it, got the round one for better speaker quality, its primary use is hands free radio that doubles as a kitchen timer I hope Karl enjoyed his short free amazon TV. Beware! I say. Time may be short. It wouldn't be a problem in the UK as the non insulated parts of the L&N plug pins cannot be exposed while touching the contacts in the socket. 1 Quote

Sshhhhh. She's listening. If she finds out she can't kill children with plug sockets she'll try something else. Quote
