Mississippi Bullfrog Posted May 30, 2022 Posted May 30, 2022 Mopeds are fine.....so long as you keep the stabilisers on. 1 Quote
Davidtav Posted May 30, 2022 Author Posted May 30, 2022 Full disclaimer. I started off with a moped. I had a Raleigh Runabout on my 16th birthday. And a Yamaha FS1e about 3 months later … I remember my Dad warning me the night before I got the Fizzie that I needed to be careful about the acceleration. I was so excited. And a bit disappointed when I actually used it! … I’ve only been on a few bikes to be honest. Z650 I currently ride is most powerful. But I would be happy to have a go on any bike. 1 Quote

Gerontious Posted June 2, 2022 Posted June 2, 2022 I wasn’t allowed to have a motorbike until my 18th birthday and only then if I saved for and bought it myself. So I did. First bike was a 1976 Kawasaki KH250 triple 2 stroke. In 1980. Passed my test 2 years later. Can’t say I felt hard done by not being allowed to have a moped to be honest. Quote
Mississippi Bullfrog Posted June 2, 2022 Posted June 2, 2022 My dad had a Puch Maxi. He used set off to work in the winter looking like the Michelin man in cloud of blue smoke. I had a go a few times but strangely didn't feel the urge to been seen on it in public. Quote
S-Westerly Posted June 2, 2022 Posted June 2, 2022 Never ridden a moped in my life and don't plan on starting now. First bike was a CB250N and I fell off it more times than I care to remember. Quote
rennie Posted June 3, 2022 Posted June 3, 2022 Red AP50 when I was 16! best bike I've ever had! (freedom) 2 Quote

onesea Posted June 3, 2022 Posted June 3, 2022 My parents didn't stop me getting a mopehead, they did however negotiate a better deal that kept me of bikes for 25 years. I started abroad on mopeheads, rental ones. You know the story flip flops, shorts, T shirts afew beers. Well I wasn't going to be out done by the girls in short skirts and high heels... Anyway I started riding in the UK only to discover, the female riders here have a more "correct" attitude to clothing and higher morals... Still I enjoy the biking.... 4 Quote
