Steve_M Posted April 10, 2022 Posted April 10, 2022 I'm getting annoyed with people moaning about the cost of things. £3.50 for a coffee, £1.95 for a tea, £2.95 for a cupcake. If I hear any more complaints I'm going to stop inviting people round. 7 Quote

My wife was working in one of the vaccination centres during one of the lockdowns as a volunteer. One morning these goons with ear pieces turn up. Johnsons looking for a suitable centre to do a meet n greet in front of the cameras. Manager of the centre explains the situation and asks who would be willing to meet him in front of the cameras. Lisa refused point blank to have any part of his PR trip to the North..... So did the rest of the volunteers. Some expressing a desire to meet him but physically attack him....lol The goons left. On the evening news he was at a vaccination centre 2 mile away in batley. Again though there was a lack of interviews and elbow touching...... 1 Quote
Guest Posted April 22, 2022 Posted April 22, 2022 Shamelessly nicked from good old humphrey Lyttleton: Nottingham is a fine city with a fascinating history. It's well documented in official records that the city's original name was 'Snottingham', or 'Home of Snots', but when the Normans came, they couldn't pronounce the letter 'S', so decreed the town be called 'Nottingham' or the 'Home of Notts'. It's easy to understand why this change was resisted so fiercely by the people of Scunthorpe. Quote
