1. Wait till you meet the Solent ferries, I can ride to the local ferry terminal in 10 minutes. Yet it's cheaper to ride to dover and get the ferry to France than get the ferry to a port 3 miles south, including petrol costs....
2. I can walk to the ferry, still does not mean the ferry companies will not do there best to make the Manx Steam Pact Company look like opportunists rather than out and out crooks for over charging...
3. In all honesty I have never actually used Amigo for Navigation, I thought it was charged. I run it in background so it Auto starts on connection with Bluetooth. Latest function I have started using is its speeding warning, you can set for a limit EG Speed limit +10mph, you get one subtle single ping. Shame it wont do as percent but that's probably my being picky. I am again paying for TomTom GO, which is my go to app for navigation as I like to pre-plan routes before departure and be able to stick to them ish... husoi Uses OPEN Street map as source, OPS maps are crowd sourced so maps can be corrupted, similar to Wikipedia. This may or maybnot be bad thing depending on your view point. Breezin " Waze has a mode with just arrows showing the next turn too." cannot find the option for that one...
4. If insured fully comp I would of thought it should of worked along the lines of: 1) You have to pay full year, 2) If Claim is paid within in the life of the policy you will have insurance to use on another bike or you have a refund as the time without insured bike is still a "loss" that can be financial reimbursed. Then again I think insurance is politely summed up here: Keep calm good luck and don't expect a speedy resolution.
5. Understanding Stu 's very understandable reluctance to put money up front... It gets crowd funding so we have to put our money up front, with the right site it refunds your money if you don't reach target. Presently as its to support a community through Corona Virus there might be a way to sip some fees... I also hope there is an over order so that its £6 crowd funded with limited number of extra stock available at £8 or £10. If less stress full for Admin maybe other bright ideas could be funded this way...
6. Stu sorry to say the model you offer, appears fake, Photoshoped and dare I say computer generated I will be standing by my word and order 1 I just hope she's better in real life
7. What did you do that was naughty but nice? Ours: Peter Crouch Save Our Summer Oh and 13 year old daughter now has permission from mum to go on the back of the bike... Learning from politicians, using covid as bad news day...
8. I put me down for one, although once I have seen designed might increase... Will increase if they come with blond as above....
9. ALL DAY If my misses can get me to a shop that is not for Motorbikes or boats for more than an hour. She gets suspicions I have been up to no good and am trying to nice to her...
10. I just ordered some cheap Buffs for this purpose. Leave round neck pop over face in shop, seemed like solution to me.
11. Put your hair in bunches and hook the mask on to them in stead..
12. Safely returned 500 miles Dorset, Devon, Somerset & Cornwall, including Exmoor and Dartmoor. Not counting Hampshire my home country. Not a bad 3 day explore, did not stop raining the first night. A little damp and chilly the second day particularly on the moors but all good... Thanks for all the ignored and followed advice.
13. Anyone know anything about fixing Dishwashers? I have tried Chocolate and Flowers, she is still moaning...
14. TDM 900's have similar issues, below 40 mph there is an air box mod or wire to disconnect that improves it significantly...
15. OK Time for a confession thanks for all the great advice, it has been appreciated. Norfolk is still on the agenda, but 2 hour delay in departure meant Motorway or late night arrival then shopping etc. So Norfolk is on hold - so I drew a 3 hour circle on the map. Wales being shut other choices where South downs or South of Birmingham somewhere.... I am now going to Somerset. Near Exmoor. Roughly like this but probably with detours I wander from roads I have travelled before...
16. I have never used Wish mine are similar but not that model. I prefer Joom, Alibaba, Bangood something normally turns up you just never have a clue what size or when..
17. Maybe I am over simplistic 3 similar to these, https://www.wish.com/product/5d8de2345305c807d171bae9?from_ad=goog_shopping&_display_country_code=GB&_force_currency_code=GBP&pid=googleadwords_int&c=%7BcampaignId%7D&ad_cid=5d8de2345305c807d171bae9&ad_cc=GB&ad_curr=GBP&ad_price=5.00&campaign_id=8701462921&retargeting=true&gclid=Cj0KCQjwo6D4BRDgARIsAA6uN186kCuqhmN7uOIFXOBwznsxK0V4VAkg-_JLlX6eydty2TkHYSybVX0aAuHzEALw_wcB&hide_login_modal=true&share=mobileweb magnetic so I can stick on any steel surface and a head torch. I use one for parking bike in dark. If that's not enough I push bike outside...
18. https://downie.store/products/mini-electric-wiper-for-bikers It is a thing https://www.visordown.com/news/product-news/wipey-here-and-we%E2%80%99re-confused%E2%80%A6 So who's going to be the first to review
19. A FB group have some ideas, not booking till Thursday Friday just incase forecast changes. Then I can move roads to better weather Also member of C&C club that might help. But not always bike friendly they don't understand gravel tracks and slippery grass causes problems.
20. Thanks for the input, some areas from Milton Keynes to home and Chichester to home I hadn't really planned as they are areas I ride regularly. Within a day of home so kind of business runs. IE get the miles done so I have time to explore new roads. Great Yarmouth I may or may not by pass for memories sake. Loose women are no longer on the agenda as I have riding buddy or witness .
21. You see once I got music I was hooked, ironic as I don't often do music in the car... Maybe try it on longer ride and keep volume low...
22. A plan is forming looking good for Norfolk, Suffolk watching the weather for early next week. I am thinking of circumnavigating London.. Day 1 Camping somewhere near Bury St Edmonds Day 2 Loop into Norfolk area Day 3 Ride Home My reckoning is 200 miles a day up and down. Probably 100-200 miles run in and around the Norfolk Area. Nothing is set in stone..
23. I am pretty certain it was never the government's intention. I am just desperately trying to seek out clarification to correct an X wife. So I have not been with in a meter of my own child since the start of lockdown. I have seen her 5 times during lockdown (one last night). Which is actually much easier to deal with when your oceans away than 1.5 miles down the road. At least in this thread the jokes don't have to be funny.
