  1. Once the price of them had shocked you... Not cool but a top box (£40 ebay) and regular rucksack? Or lol here and make sure it has rain cover... https://www.sportsdirect.com/SearchResults?DescriptionFilter=Ruck%20sack
  2. Now for my other bike, the trophy 1200. I thought about another Gibidi but it's single sided oiler and the sprocket is considerably wider. Plus I could find no where sensible to fit it, so I bought British. Loobman: http://www.loobman.co.uk/ This I could fit behind the fairing on the Trophy and still operate when riding. Although the instructions are in English they are initially quite confusing. The unit works well and gives good flow of oil to both sides of the sprocket.
  3. Not certain any one is reading my updates on this. The Gidibi works by holding the oil in the to chamber by vacuum as you turn the unit it reduces the pressure and let more oil out on to the chain. The build being quality Chinese I have found if the chain could do just a drop of oil for my commute to work wobbling the top breaks the vacume enough to allow a few drops into the chain..
  4. Inspired by this post and my ever running challenge to buy cheap but good for my bikes I spent £22.90 https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07WDPMTV1/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_dI24Eb3QH2DY6 It arrived safely as shown with assembly instructions, that will where clearly written in Chinese. In fairness a little fiddling around and it went together no issues, it seems fairly robust. I had planing a little ride before the rain to set it up. Oh well maybe tomorrow and I cannot blame the Chinese for the weather.

    Use of WD40

WD40 is great, it will lubricate short term it loosens up dry grease, displaces water and leaves "dry surfaces", with slight water resistant/ oily residue left. This also means it's designed to penetrate O rings, X seals. Then in my mind once inside it helps dissolve loosen and oil/grease that's in there. Assisting it out from behind the seals... Leaving a chain dry in places you want it wet.
  6. Shift worker so literally anytime, a rough shift its taken me well over an hour to make it a mile and half home... When I am days off well the same rules apply its not unheard of for me to find myself riding home in the dark... Not that it really matters chances of finding me heading to local biker stop is slim... Last ride:
  7. I would try 3 they had a 1 month contract that was not bad. I was in it 6 months and got stunning deal on huwai phone. Good phone waterproof, 2m and recovered, but did not float second swim 3m into soft mud :/ There annual contract is not bad but 1m give change to decide about reception.
  8. Skins line you have done the right thing and no harm done as such. I would be taking back to dealer at earliest opportunity, to find out why a 3 month old bike is using oil....
  9. From what I can work out having recently rebuilt some forks... The danger is more of them weeping as any air pressure build up in the forks pushes the oil passed the seals. Blown seals might be an over statement, I doubt that the pressure build up in most forks is significant..
  10. Without doubt, 1) People who have been driving for whatever reason throughout got used to empty roads. Now being impatient, and having to learn to look again, 2) People who have not driven for lock down duration coming out of hibernation and driving very slowly, 3) Lycra Pele used to owning the road are having to learn to share again, 4) Motorcyclists not noticing difference as no matter what every one is trying to kill is, Lots of space for conflict and bad driving...
  11. I am getting increasingly tempted by a cam for safety reasons. I bought a Chinese GoPro copy and it works, bike mounted keeping vibrations down is tough. With 2 bikes a car and my misses car and being to look lazy to keep moving it I am stuffed. For me the cams must be set and forget.
  12. Makes you realise why cyclists should have them they might actually care about what's behind them instead of signal manoeuvre... Cyclists I started to overtake with clear slave before a junction, he signalled and pulled into middle of road. I carried on the road was 2 way road I was already asking side the one at the back. Cyclist carried on onto opposite carriageway, I had to break HARD. Poor dog got launched round back of car, have a squeal. Cyclist betrated me at junction for not looking Dog reluctant to get into car for next week Maybe I should get dash cam for own protection
  13. Filter oil on seal check sealing surfaces clean and as tight as I can manage by hand... Had always worked for me, still need a tool to remove after
  14. I got myself one of these as it needed less space round the filter. It's worked for me, also been handy on random other jobs... https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fp%2F19017007442
  15. Its worse than that, the puns clubs are shut, the children's parties, country shows and weddings are cancelled, no one has anything to do but aim for there nearest country park, beach or green space. I am sure its the same anywhere pleasant and out doors, local hotspots here cannot handle the crowds :/
  16. Thanks that is useful input, worth remembering. Having had this experience no matter which brand is in place (I have several brands spread between various items) I will give it a quick visual once a whilst.
  17. I should add no I don't know brand, age, they have probably been hot, cold, wet, dry and frozen. They have not been through washing machine. I will admit Tthey where ok last time I washed the jeans, no I don't know when that was.
  18. Just a thought once in a whilst check your armour. I guess I have had these trousers 4 years. My knee armour felt intact, and robust the other day i noticed some black bits on the carpet. Today my right knee armour felt lumpy, the photo shows both knee pads, left knee still felt ok
  19. But it works so well for so many other things. From cleaning various stains of hard surfaces, to freeing seized nuts.
  20. Sounds daft WD40 the wiring, particularly HT leads. It can make difference if spark is weak. Also if you have car battery to jump start from that extra kick can get it going. Bike batteries are notoriously small. Don't do it with the car engine running. If carbed there is normally drain screw in bowl drain petrol through it. It's there a prime function on fuel valve, some bikes have valves that stop the fuel if engines not running? Inline fuel filter could be clogged? Condensation in tank might be getting through before fuel. Turn it over and gradually increase Choke can provide right full mixture. Try same with increasing throttle. Although generally flooding is the problem. If/ when you remove spark plug look at colour and Google what it means. New spark plugs are both that expensive might be as cheap to replace..
  21. If you go for training before you do is pretty pointless as you have to pay for the next one up might as well get full license it costs about the same.
  22. Oh the Cornish are worse than that... You can live there 99.9% of yourlife but if your born the wrong side of the bridge... Your never going to be Cornish... . PS Don't you wish they would start breeding Scouser's with Geordies. Then already the Scouser's would be to lazy to pinch anything...
  23. 200 miles 4.5 hours avoiding motorways.. Cracking ride you will be used to gears by the time you have finished Unless is special bike you might do better looking slightly more locally. Or asking locally on FB
