1. Oh give us a break I like my sails... We are not all bad its the professionals sleeping on the bridge, Radar and AIS (class B filtered out off course) alarms set, CH16 turned down relying on GMDSS, ECDIS set for auto plotting with the lookout down cleaning accommodation that scare me PS Present choice of anchor is Fortress FX I have done my time with Stevpris.
2. Let's be civilized about this... Let's take a good punch up to someone else's forum... My suggestion would be an anchoring thread or a collision regs thread in a sailing forum.. If you want to be more current outsiders in national parks and dogs socially distancing during Corona Virus can normally raise a good reaction. If your bored try it... Any suggestions from others...
3. Funny you should say that I saw one for sale a while back and liked the look of it and the reviews seemed very positive just thought 900 cc might be a bit too much for my first big bike. The clue is in the nickname TeDiuM 900, if a bit unjust. My FZ6 could get me into trouble allot quicker (98 BHP) than the TDM (89 BHP). if your considering a 500 the TDM will keep you amused for a fair whilst. I have sold my FZ6 and kept the TDM then I also have Triumph Trophy 1200 which is a lovely bike but at 250kg is hard work to manoeuvre on my own... If your interest is out and out speed forget the TDM go for one of the 600's, if you are looking for enjoyable days ride TDM should not come of the list.
4. Another to consider is TDM 900. Upright riding position, not the fastest my FZ6 was quicker. Disconnect one wire from ECU and 95% of show speed judder vanishes. Tall bike easy to see over traffic for all day riding position. Good fairing, good mpg. 180odd kgs not heavy. Surprisingly fun in Twisties.

Hello!

I used POR 4 years later still good. I have used FERTAN but not for fuel tanks and in other uses I swear by it... Read your reviews and take your chance.. https://www.frost.co.uk/fuel-tank-repair/
6. I am no expert but at some point in last 20 years they have worked out big screens don't always make more comfortable bikes. On the Triumph Trophy I have 3 screens tall medium and small. I find the smallest screen with similar deflector the best combination in all weathers. Yes I get more air flow but I start just as dry and warm or cold with a adjustment of the screen. Most modern bikes seen to rely on directing airflow rather than reducing it with full fairings..
7. 125cc looked after bought wisely can hold money.. Aonther suggestion Kawasaki Vulcan... Again cruiser style.
8. There does seem to be sad inevitability that someone who wears polite jacket has lack of sence of humour... Or is it there is only so much jest one can take better they implode?
9. A big heavy bike? I am also believer in simple things. If I was going to steal a bike I would not want: surprise's, I would want soft target, I would want secluded, Park in public or where lots of people pass, I would not be surprised if highly visible Disk lock cable is as important as the actual lock. Make the bike look undesirable, Something like this might give enough surprise to deter them: https://www.google.com/search?q=Wireless+Vibration+Alarm+with+Remote&client=ms-android-cubot&prmd=sivn&sxsrf=ALeKk03_g_vMEciK7E2HDexAh4bdbHjSzQ:1590093406393&source=lnms&tbm=shop&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjl75bF58XpAhUVlFwKHVq-AbYQ_AUoAXoECAwQAQ&biw=360&bih=592&dpr=2 I have similar on my garage door it won't stop them but might make them think twice. I normally leave empty tank bag on bike to make it look like I am not away long
10. I thought I had made it more subtle than that
11. What do you want to do with your bike: Touring? Green lanes? Posing at local bike night? Ride all year? Summer only? About you: Do you have a beard? Do you find yourself drawn to textiles /breathable clothing? Do you want to wear matching bike gear to your bike? Do you want bike gear made from real cows? Do you plan to go to: Europe? Silverstone? Local Greasy Spoon? Touring with textiles BMW GSA Touring with beard and real Cows Cruiser probably Harley, Real cows Silverstone and colour coordinated sports bike. Full on power ranger. If you are buying a bike to escape the misses. May I suggest a Kawasaki, in green. When you change bikes your misses probably won't notice they all look the same. This was pointed out to me by a Kawasaki dealer I will stop with these analogies now before I insult all on here. Ok you mention crossers what about TDM900 Don't worry about the 900 but my 600 was allot quicker .. I would agree with others unless your going down the sports bike route. Don't go small cc. I would also look to buy a bike with good history that you like for 1/2 your budget. Ride it and enjoy it until you know what you want with a bike I bought my first bike for days out never thought I would use it for more it in the wet. I now shop and commute by bike,i use my bikes when ever I don't have to take car. The only thing I avoid is slow and ice, having said that last t it was icy I took bike as it was easier than defrosting car. Most people change bikes quite frequently so imho good history and bone you like the look of at right price. Then see which category above you want to fit into...
12. I run a local FB page for bikers, since the start ofI posted up the other for places that are open for take out during rides. I was amazed to have someone come back recommending this: The way I read that bike Nights are still in full swing... And his posts have been deleted...
13. So there I was sailing towards the IOW today and with all this Corona stuff going on I think it's gone to great efforts to say your not welcome...
14. 15. Imho First bike should be cheap and cheerful don't think twice about a mope head at 50cc. Cheap motorbike for 125cc Ridden on CBT until he can A2 licence.
16. I am putting Dorset, on that list for me as the police there run there own rules... Annoying as it's only 5 miles away...
17. OLd fashioned (now) paper charts where ideal weight and thickness for gaskets., for me I don't like gunk that can stick bits on my bike so its new or paper gasket every time...
18. Change it for cheap ish one of bike runs badly change to old one spend more next time. Cheap ish and clear to see dirt: https://www.eurocarparts.com/search/503600048?type=shopping&gclid=CjwKCAjwwMn1BRAUEiwAZ_jnEsmwl9BL1p95AnGf6TILTAGoL_rQPBaCKM5W_Rr204CbuBImIPim2hoCwCkQAvD_BwE Cheaper https://www.eurocarparts.com/search/503770029
19. Stu should you not put this in the for sale wanted section? I am guessing Six30 got it wrong..
20. It arrived today fitted to old helmet easy enough, microphone a little large of helmet tight fit... All functions seem to work paired to phone ok. Not been tried on bike yet will see got it gets on. I have used it afew times not works well for what it is Radio reception is poor, that could be partially due to a carbon helmet. Music is good to about 60mph. which is good enough enough for me. To my surprise it does have a siri/ ok google button so those functions are available. If your looking for 1 person headset and can fit slightly tighter speakers I would say its worth £20.
21. Six30 any confessions to make?
22. Some people just don’t care about anyone but themselves. There are FB groups where these bikers are getting allot of support, its a tough one. Then the first weekend before lock down people made it tough to allow sensible, so many where stupid. The crowds in many out door places N Wales every car park being full here in the New Forest plus biker cafes meeting points rammed etc etc. Round here they have shut most of the New Forest car parks where allot of people including me would daily walk there dogs. So the local quite walks are now heaving, reducing social distancing. Common sense would say open them all up and give people the space then people would abuse and it would go down hill. Without medical breakthrough of some sort, people are going to continue to die there is no way out. In the mean time the typically low paid key workers are put most at risk working to keep services running. Not seeing families or doing overtime not to be at home. People living in hotels etc to not bring it home. I have only had brief access with my daughter since this all started and I don't know when I will next see her.
23. Or are working harder through this and don't have time to tidy garage/ shed. One lockdown is over anyone want to do a good deed for key worker
24. I have had mine 3 years, it's good not great. Certainly not a it's issues, they have upgraded and improved it. Would I buy again? It's nearly 3 years since we bought then, £300 odd pounds. The rechargable batteries are dieing I believe they cannot be replaced. I am not certain the headsets will be either.
