As @James in Brum said. My kwak would only start from cold with full choke then after a few seconds choke could be reduces. Probably an age thing with the bikes.

A lot of Lithium ion batteries for replacing car / motor bike lead acid batteries are made up of cells that are nominally 3.7 volts, however LiFeP04 batteries are 3.2 volts, per cell.

I’ve used Red X in the past. Which ever you use check the label and use carb cleaner most is now for inject systems.
-
Will not hurt to run some carb cleaner through.

Not had a spring go on my fords (2 Mondeo both over 10 years old when sold) but OH fiat Punto had a front spring go. Car was about 8 year old.
-
So sorry to hear that @dynax. Sincere condolences to you.

I tend to keep my bikes as well so depreciation isn’t a factor. Had my GPX 20 years and had the Bandit about 8 years.

Had to go into town yesterday afternoon to pick up a prescription . Have to say the place was heaving. Folk everywhere. Have to say though the majority were below 50, and the number of young women and blokes walking in groups and sitting on the benches no distancing can’t believe they were all from one house hold.

Started it yesterday and as it was very sluggish put it on charge overnight. Charger was showing all green lights today so went for an essential ride into town for necessities. Longish ride home. All was good even if the rider was a little rusty.

You may be correct. When the new style MOT’s came in “warning lights” on motorbikes was mentioned specifically engine management and ABS, where fitted. However they are not in the latest bike checksheet.
-
This is true. Also applies to Tyre Pressure Monitoring and ABS lights.

I’m with Devitt and they are a broker and they often give me a quote from my existing insurer along with a second option of a cheaper quote if I want to change. Changed each time the last 3 years for a cheaper offer and now I’m back with the same insurer as I was 4 years ago.

Wind farms and solar power stations. so you can only charge the vehicle on sunny windy days.

Our local tip recycling centre is pre book only, no trailers, only one person in the vehicle no help with unloading. So if you need two people to manhandle something over the 3 foot high wall into the skips, tough.

Do you stop if you see a biker at the side of the road?
JRH replied to Throttled's topic in Motorbike Chat
If thumbs up, carry on. Stopped a couple of times. One stopped in a garage and was still there on the way back so stopped. He had a flat tyre, his mate was on the way with a van, had a chat and then left. Other guy pushing his bike. Stopped. He was out of fuel so gave him a pillion to a close fuel station. All was good. -
Is your Tyre Plugger the best?

I’ve got something like this. Works well. https://m.audew.com/Audew-150PSI-USB-Rechargeable-Electric-Preset-Pressure-Pump-LED-and-LCD-Display-p-100232.html?gmcCountry=GB¤cy=GBP&cur_warehouse=fba_uk&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc_gg_ssc&utm_campaign=becky-20200805-uk-ssc-vehicle-CBN888-da&gclid=Cj0KCQiA962BBhCzARIsAIpWEL1vBaAxdPX5vEeZcMABeSTwS7yl9V48kzzmSZuKMuS44B9UF-P_KX4aAqU9EALw_wcB -
Scott Oiler instructions say to mount the nozzle touching the rear sprocket so the oil is pushed onto the chain with centrifugal/ centripetal force. Having the nozzle above the chain can let the wind blow the oil drops away from the chain.

I’ve got the sticky string pack. Had to use it once in a rear tyre. Worked fine. Monitored the tyre pressure and it never lost any PSI. Forgot about it till the the tyre needed replacing. -
Have a look at the ABBA sky lift or bike tek motorbike constand. https://abbastands.co.uk/product-detail.asp?item=sky-lift&pid=44 https://www.ebay.co.uk/i/254391760471?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=710-134428-41853-0&mkcid=2&itemid=254391760471&targetid=1140298853213&device=t&mktype=pla&googleloc=1007030&poi=&campaignid=12125451320&mkgroupid=113659071501&rlsatarget=aud-629407027345:pla-1140298853213&abcId=9300480&merchantid=101735414&gclid=Cj0KCQiAgomBBhDXARIsAFNyUqPaRHV1fvG8vyw9Hjt62DZdRjLCHqf9Lglcp_3-PP4_3bgHTxoO-UkaAmgnEALw_wcB

The neon as used to check for a live circuit does it by connecting a live circuit to earth via your body to light the neon. To limit the current to a “safe” value there is a register in the circuit. Resistors could fail short circuit ( not usual) and then you would get a shock between live and earth, with possible fatal result. if the resistor fails open circuit you would think the circuit is dead. as @dynax says. so it’s a H&S thing. also they are not guaranteed to work as it is relying on you to complete the circuit. If you wear good rubber soled shoes you are insulated and so would give a “dead” indication. So you could be working on a live circuit believing it to be dead. Ask me how I know. . these days you have to use a dedicated live circuit tester and it most be checked on a known live circuit before using.
-
Are screwdrivers with neons still allowed on industrial sites? On most / all water authority sites they are banned.
-
Yep. That’s where it gets in. Then it corrodes where the resistor joins the LED.
