  1. New pads and seals in . Just waiting for a nice red braided line now .
  2. Get a bus! That's on a bus , not embedded in the side of one .
  3. I don't know about the rest of you but whenever I wear rubber/vinyl/latex gloves my hands are soaking wet after a few minutes so defeats the object. That was my reaction too . Sounds horrible .
  4. Thermostat housing smartened up a bit . I popped the thermostat in a pan of water and brought it to the boil and it opened nicely . Ok , I didn't use a thermometer but it will do for now .
  5. Just getting things ready for some engine work .
  6. Can you get your knee down on ice though ?
  7. " I fancy a v twin, I've never ridden one before, but it has to check all the boxes of being able to knee down, but be stable on ice. I could ride the GPZ 500s like that... even if it was lethal with the bouncy castle front suspension, I could ride to work and keep it upright. Where my ZX6R and GSXR, the front would go and there was no way of saving it on ice, they were too heavy and it put you over the front with the weight." I think this probably ticks a number of your boxes .
  8. Now I know why GPZ 500s are getting hard to find . That's four of them knackered for a start !
  9. " I mainly just crash in the summer " Come on , who is it ? This has to be a wind up surely ? This stuff is brilliant .
  10. I would imagine that some of the non gel style Hand Sanitizers would burn well enough .
  11. Might I suggest that instead of WD40 which is 70% solvent , you consider ACF50 as a winter protection .
  12. Have a great day !
  13. Not me , I maintain all my bikes in pristine condition .
  14. I've never got round to it but I've always fancied the idea of getting some waterproofs that are normally worn at sea . They may not look great on a bike but they've got to be more waterproof than some of the shit I've wasted my money on over the years . https://www.gaelforcemarine.co.uk/Mobile/en/Oilskins/m-c-130.aspx
  15. So if you were to sum up your biking history in a bike it might look a bit like this .
  16. Hello and welcome . Well I had to Google Lexmoto Riot . It's a bit mad looking isn't it . Have you tried riding it on TWO wheels ? https://images.app.goo.gl/XQLg16fn2HwEK53g8
  17. For goodness sake . He should be using a proper wrench ............ And using the Torque Wrench to hit it with .
  18. Calliper done . I regret not taking a Before picture because it was an absolute lump of shit . How anyone was using it to stop a motorcycle and surviving is beyond me . The finish is Halfords Aluminium Engine Paint , two coats and then baked in the oven for an hour .
  19. I'm sure that after all your meticulous work this bike is running sweet as a nut but listening to this on a phone without headphones it sounds worrying to say the least . There is the steady deep drone of the engine in the background but over that there is a horrible rattling and clunking like an object being shaken around in a biscuit tin . I'm sure it's nothing but a trick of the microphone but I did feel I should mention it . It should be born in mind that I've spent over 40 years worrying about engine noises and I never ever had one fail on me yet .
  20. I've already got two Torque Wrenches . ( For jobs that actually require them )
  21. 37C71AFA-E72A-4CAC-960B-F3A877FC08D9.gif It looked a lot clearer in real life but the camera didn't do it justice .
  22. You're looking at it wrong. That's definitely Garibaldi addressing his troops after the siege of Rome. So it's come down to biscuits in the end .
  23. Bank transfer is a safe way to be paid . When I bought the Harley we drove to a Barclays , I said I'd like to pay this guy £4,200 and handed over my debit card . The seller did the same , I signed a bit of paper and that was it . Then , in a loud voice so everyone in the bank could hear , and in a horrible foreign accent , the seller said " Now you pay ransom I release your children " Funny guy and a pleasure to do business with .
  24. Did you meet Ronnie ?
  25. You're wasting your time . There are Torque Wrench believers and there are Torque Wrench non believers and neither faction will be persuaded otherwise . The non believers probably had Meccano and the believers probably had Playstation when they were kids . Hard to argue against torque wrench usage though isn't it. My rear axel bolt thing is 190nm - I'd prefer to spend £70 on a wrench and have the peace of mind that it's stuck on properly for when I'm cornering at 130... on a track. £70 is like 1/3 of a tyre so... Never into track days but I'd just give the wheel nut on the GSXR 1100 a good yank with a wrench and a tubular extension until my hand hurt and I was good to go . I guess what it comes down to is after a lifetime of mostly clapped out bikes with multiple owners , rust , salt , shit and filth , I've come to treat every nut and bolt as an individual entity . It's no good carrying on until the click when you can feel the fastener not getting any tighter . Stop before it strips and it will be fine . A nut or bolt has to rotate to come undone so if there's no such force acting upon it , it isn't going anywhere . Incidentally , just looking at my ER5 as I write this and I notice that everything safety critical on the back end is split pinned anyway .
