  1. I've just found out my next dry dock (2022) is going to be in China and they are going to install a million dollar ballast treatment plant made in China. I'm trying to work out if I can afford to retire next year. You wouldn't believe some of the junk coming from there.
  2. I really don't think the risk of infection from covid via test ride on a bike is particularly high. Especially if you are wearing normal protective gear. Back in the dark days of February at least one dealer was willing to give me a loan bike while they sorted mine. As it happens it wasn't necessary but they were sensible and practical. Unlike the bloody government and the rest of the "sky is falling" mob.
  3. You really wouldn't. It's one of these weird architect "designed" ones built for the designer and utterly impractical. She's been living in it since 1966 and I suspect when she passes on it'll be sold to a developer who'll raze it and re-build on the site. A shame as the garden is very nice. Next door did just that sadly.
  4. Must be in the Broadway bit as so far as I know that's the only shopping bit allowed in Darras, everything else is down in Ponteland. My auntie still lives in Darras.
  5. I did worse, I tried driving it. Lost the will to live.
  6. Yeah my Russians are celebrating Easter today.
  7. I'm currently about 400 miles northeast of Bermuda so riding my bike isn't really on the cards right now!
  8. A Tiger is similar to my multistrada in that they aren't really bikes you hoon round corners getting your knee down and scraping pegs although I'm sure you could. As such slightly squared tyres aren't the end of all things. I will say though that when you do change squared off tyres it is amazing how the bike seems to come alive so......
  9. This weekend is crocked as I have to do an audit. I bloody hate audits.
  10. You must have a cast iron stomach. Street food in Nigeria? Brave man.
  11. Given diesels are in many ways more polluting than petrol engines perhaps you may want to rethink this idea? Alternatively if you are that concerned maybe just get a pedal bike instead?
  12. My sat navigation records the max speed and average speed regardless. I can reset it but that's after the fact.
  13. Quite why that section of barely adequate dual carriageway is even classed as a motorway is something I have never really got my head round. Tis a joke.
  14. My issue with them is that in the event of a serious accident and all lanes go stationary emergency vehicles have a real fight to get to the location. A hard shoulder gives a safe access route for them.
  15. I think the phrase is "the quick and the dead".
  16. I've seen a few doing that too, on just about any bend.
  17. In my youth you could buy up to 250 cc without any training at all, just a provisional license. I did and rode my Honda from Ruislip to near Southport. How I didn't kill myself I'll never know. Some kind of more formal training could be advantageous as I believe some CBT providers are not too fussy as to how good you need to be to be released into the wild.
  18. Sitting in hotel in Houston where I am under isolation. Even have to eat in my room. Probably until Tuesday. Add insult to injury my brother lives about 10 miles away. f**king Chinese plague.
  19. Used POR15 on a steel fuel tank (diesel) on a boat. Had no issues with it.
  20. Flying to Houston tomorrow, whoop de bloody whoop. Me done with biking until july or August.
  21. Not been problem for me by virtue of being married to the Duracell bunny. I have been route marched over most of Gloucestershire to the extent that the one consolation in going back to sea will be I get a bit of a rest.
  22. If it didn't happen in America it never happened at all.
  23. My Ducati does it occasionally but not for more than a couple of goes. I think in my case its more to do with a clunky foot rather than anything the bike has done.
