  1. Its cheaper and less maintenance than a horse!
  2. Mine were leaking a tad so I cleaned mine yesterday but didn't use one of those "seal cleaner things" .. I used a feeler gauge and it seems to have done the trick.
  3. As I passed my mod 2 this morning I taxed and insured the ER5 that's been stuck in the garage for a year and took it for spin! ... I like it!
  4. Posted in wrong bit so I've removed my post.
  5. Just returned after taking my mod 2 test. Ride to the test station was all good but on the actual test I think my riding was rubbish which I put down to nerves. Anyway the upshot was that I passed! Zero faults!.... Result!
  6. He could be in the crap whatever he does! An insurance company can void your insurance for riding without a valid drivers licence (the cbt validates your provisional licence) An insurance company can void your insurance failing to report accidents. Technically you should report all bumps and scrapes to your insurance company whether you intend claiming or not. (I know we don't do this) Trying to get insurance when you've had one made void could be expensive.
  7. Would you prefer a tarot reading, crystal ball or tea leaves? Your guess will be as good as anyones.
  8. I stupidly never took the test on my Bantam back in the 70's .. But I was even more stupid than most! Where I worked we had our own examiner and I could have taken the test on the firms motorcycle combo.... He never failed anyone no matter how bad they were! .. When he asked if I wanted to take the test I said I was a bit busy and he never asked me again!
  9. Best option is to buy another but if the choice is between that or none at all then I would still use it!
  10. I made that one when I was in NZ .. Summers were hot and it was a pleasure to fall in!
  11. If we're doing canoes .. Here's one "I made earlier"!
  12. Yours is a bit bigger than mine! .. But mine was home made!
  13. If its an ordinary key and you have one for them to copy then Timpsons should be able to cut it. They've done them for my Cg125 and ER5 but they are old bikes.
  14. Going DAS at the moment is not so easy .. Depending on where you are some test centres are fully booked all the way to October!
  15. I hope you have witnesses? .. If not the other driver may claim that you ran into the back of them.
  16. Look on the back of your licence .. If you have A(motorcycle) and in column 12 it says 79(3) you are restricted to riding tricycles. You will have to take a CBT to ride a 125 .. and pass the various tests to ride an unrestricted bike.
  17. France has announced that arrivals from the UK will be forced to self isolate for at least 7 days to stop the Indian variant! I really do hope that this gets sorted quick and that you all get to go on your adventure!
  18. The daft part is that you can do your CBT on an auto scooter then trot off on a geared bike.
  19. It doesn't matter what size bike you eventually get you will still have to start by doing a CBT. Do that first then it may give you an idea what your commute would be like on a 125.
  20. If you are buying sockets another decision you'll need to make is 6 point or 12 point! .. I prefer 6 point. https://toolsbible.com/12-point-vs-6-point-socket/
  21. A 125 can carry quite a bit ... but it will slow you down a touch.
  22. I know someone who has one of these(English Electric Zero) and he loves it! ... Its the £20,000 price tag that puts me off!
  23. In my experience burglars are more likely to kick in the door or break a window rather than waste time picking the combination of a key safe... Mine is in an obscure position. I have a dog too, he has a lovely loud bark! .. He is more likely to drown an intruder with piss at the excitement of a new visitor!
  24. Get one of these! ... https://www.screwfix.com/p/master-lock-water-resistant-combination-safe/77908
