geofferz Posted November 2, 2020 Posted November 2, 2020 It really was. Didn’t get any lighter all day though! How long are you suffering the beautiful warmth n sunshine n Turkey? Until my visa runs out in 30 days and they kick me out, unless I can finish my residency application before then. But I'll go to the Canaries instead or, well, anywhere, cos I have no job, home or wife in England to go back to and it sounds like one of the worst places on earth right now Are you currently occupied as beach bum? No, because I have a mobile phone I am a 'digital nomad' Aka beach bum. Quote
Guest Posted November 6, 2020 Posted November 6, 2020 Could have done with it a bit warmer......and a few less fluffy clouds really. But Winter is on the way so I suppose it could be worse.I'm hoping to be out Saturday and Sunday......but I'm still limited to staying within the perimeter of this area. That restriction expires on Monday, but apparently there's a meeting this weekend in order to determine the next stage. So I'm working under the assumption that they'll put the kybosh on movements and make the most of this weekend! Fish Posted November 6, 2020 Posted November 6, 2020 As the weather is looking ok (ok dry at least) I'll be going for a socially distanced ride to god knows where. Week from hell, but on the plus side I've just passed an exam from hell. Sometimes I hate working in IT, and this was one of those weeks.Hope everyone else has a good weekend.Fish Quote

dynax Posted November 6, 2020 Posted November 6, 2020 As the birdies are hitting the seed feeder more than the others, i will be going out for a couple more, and as pet shops are open and classed as essential i have a sneaking suspicion that i may have to travel further afield to find some Quote

Sometimes I hate working in IT, and this was one of those weeks.Hope everyone else has a good weekend.Fish I sympathise mate I have had a weird week.Tuesday lost wallet and only discovered after putting £80 worth of diesel in the car so cancelled all cards told work to supply new fuel card and tried to sort driving licence out unsuccessfully.Wednesday interview for new job seemed to go well so getting better, then today some stoopid tw*t drove into the side of my parked car then had the cheek to get her husband to call me and suggest we can sort it out with cash privately (prat doesn`t know how much repairs to Mercs are and how much a hire car will be while its being done). So if weather favourable I will be taking a ride even if I don`t stop or interact with anyone I just need to decompress !CheersIan Quote

Ian Frog Posted November 7, 2020 Posted November 7, 2020 So following the disappointment of having my car damaged I took it to a bodyshop to find out roughly what we are looking at in money and time. That little lot comes to well over a grand plus a car is going to be needed for at least a week !!!!! All presuming there is no hidden damage which I am unsure of.So feeling depressed we decided to visit the graffiti wall that Mawsley has posted in the past. Lovely afternoon trundle and feel a bit less stressed now.Got home and the insurance company for the other party is doing the lot and hiring an equivalent car which could be a Merc, Beemer or Range Rover.I am looking forward to this lol.CheersIan Quote
MarkW Posted November 7, 2020 Posted November 7, 2020 A valve stem sheared off one of the Jeep tyres last week, and astonishingly none of the usual tyre fitters could help as the stems are apparently specific to the pressure monitoring system. The main dealer wanted silly money for what is a five minute job, so I told them I'd do it myself and ordered some stems online. "Ha! Good luck breaking the bead by hand on one of those things!" they said.Never underestimate a man with a Hi-Lift jack and a little ingenuity. Necessity is the mother of invention, and all that...
