Mickly Posted March 6, 2020 Posted March 6, 2020 Took the mighty Speedtriple for its MoT, passed with flying colours
Snod Blatter Posted March 6, 2020 Posted March 6, 2020 Tightened a clip on the left mirror so that it doesn't threaten to fly away at speeds over 70MPH. The clips are sprung steel and surprisingly difficult to adjust/bend/crush but it's a little better than it was. Now if only oafs could refrain from knocking it off..
Mickly Posted March 7, 2020 Posted March 7, 2020 Managed to mangle a caliper bleed nipple while bleeding the newly built brakes on the Trophy. So replaced them on both sides.Using a vac system but still can’t get a good lever.Tied the lever back & will try again tomorrow New nipple Zip tied brake lever
Mr Fro Posted March 7, 2020 Posted March 7, 2020 Using a vac system but still can’t get a good lever. Have you tried tapping the lines or reverse bleeding them?Tying the lever is a very temporary fix.

FallingDown Posted March 7, 2020 Posted March 7, 2020 Upgraded the CRFs levers today. Very pleased with the reach on them but can't report much more than that as when wheeling the bike out of the garage the smallest bit of very pointy twig went right through my tyre and through the inner tube. Fortunately for once this happened an hour before everywhere closed and I managed to pick up a heavy duty tube. This will now be the job for tomorrow and while the wheel is off I have a new bigger sprocket to go on. Bit of a pain as was hoping to get out early doors for a ride tomorrow but if I'm gonna get a puncture I'm glad it was on the driveway.
James in Brum Posted March 7, 2020 Posted March 7, 2020 Changed the air filter, changed the rectifier/regulator, changed the battery and discovered thanks to much help from the forum team that it was the stator that was broken.Had some help too.
Snod Blatter Posted March 7, 2020 Posted March 7, 2020 Nice trumpets! What did I do to my bike today? I, err, shortened it. A bit. Oh hello BMW my faithful friend, out you come again.. Pictures man Well okay then, I think it's been long enough that the insurance companies won't care that this ever happened. Behold!https://youtu.be/0aGvVKC_mOsThe old massive-van-sudden-u-turn skit. This shortened the bike quite considerably!https://i.imgur.com/BdiSmiV.jpg' alt='IMGUR>'>So, today I set about lengthening it again. In theory replacing a pair of forks is easy, even straight forward. In reality I'm dealing with Thai build quality which means the third bolt I tried turned out to be a twat.https://i.imgur.com/QhA40HT.jpg' alt='IMGUR>'>https://i.imgur.com/kTsx0c5.jpg' alt='IMGUR>'>I'll figure that out later. Onwards!https://i.imgur.com/HWtvOW7.jpg' alt='IMGUR>'>These universal headlight clamp thingers are an absolute pain to slide off the stanchion after a few years. My soft office-worker hands are not used to that kind of abuse But they eventually gave in when i stretched them away from the stanchion and squirted some light oil down the inside.https://i.imgur.com/GvMlBi1.jpg' alt='IMGUR>'>Ooh lovely. Not bad for £75.https://i.imgur.com/MD2dW8L.jpg' alt='IMGUR>'>She has paint on the fork legs again! Fancy stuff.https://i.imgur.com/o1KpCx6.jpg' alt='IMGUR>'>So, the sheared bolt. It's held in place by a small clippy bracket thing on the inside of the mudguard:https://i.imgur.com/zFY2UOK.jpg' alt='IMGUR>'>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5jvUXij7nUhttps://i.imgur.com/V8YDNFE.jpg' alt='IMGUR>'>https://i.imgur.com/Fpvxr5Z.jpg' alt='IMGUR>'>https://i.imgur.com/RI5TDGZ.jpg' alt='IMGUR>'>Replaced with another bolt. I admire its stoicism though, it didn't let go until there was hardly anything left. Corrosion all the way down, it was never going to turn out.Mudguard back on, new forks springing away complete with being all painted, I thought things were going well. And then, while running round the block..https://i.imgur.com/EzqbPtG.jpg' alt='IMGUR>'>https://i.imgur.com/QdlyC1c.jpg' alt='IMGUR>'>Radiator ordered, £29.50 this time.. It has looked suspiciously wet for a while, I was kind of expecting it. The CB250 never needed a radiator!!

Gerontious Posted March 8, 2020 Posted March 8, 2020 Only let-down is the flying through the air bit was lacking in some artistry.
rob m Posted March 8, 2020 Posted March 8, 2020 Bloody hell Snod Blatter !Glad to hear you weren't too badly injured, the bike can be fixed. Which you enjoy doing anyway!
Six30 Posted March 8, 2020 Posted March 8, 2020 Snod Blatter nice parachute landing ..a roll then straight to your feet glad you was ok
FallingDown Posted March 8, 2020 Posted March 8, 2020 New 42t sprocket and heavy duty inner tube fitted. Now off to test the difference
Bianco2564 Posted March 8, 2020 Posted March 8, 2020 Wheeled the R1,RGV & SS out the garage into the sunshine.Fired up all 4 bikes, (not all at once) and filled the garden up with the aroma of 2 stroke oil. First time I think I've ever photographed all of them together.
Throttled Posted March 8, 2020 Posted March 8, 2020 Rode it. Had some fun in the Clyde Tunnel showing a twat in a blacked out Range Rover what real acceleration and exhaust noise is like. Then washed it.
