who ?

It's just a little hobby of mine . Whenever I hear about a bike being stolen , I go on Google maps and sure enough , there's almost always a permanent Traveler site within a mile or so of the theft .

As a group they do seem to have a very flexible attitude to other people's property. Then they wonder why so many 'normal' people really don't like them very much.

Well .. He's got it back!

Indicators broke, gear lever bent, handlebars bent, petrol filler missing, right hand fairing broke, number plate missing, locks bust, mirrors gone and chain knackered.

May be an image of motorcycle and outdoors

That's a write-off then, could ask for settlement with keeping bike but might be scrap.

His excess is £500 so we'll give the bike a good check over and price up second hand parts and decide if he claims or not.

Having stolen it why do these shitheads then trash the bike? Shame we can't have a return of the stocks for these kinds of yahoos.

The popular perception is that in olden times , people in the stocks were pelted with rotten vegetables and occasionally pissed on by a passing dog . It all seems like good natured fun but I wonder what really happened ? I bet thieves in particular were regularly  beaten to a bloody pulp , and then pissed on but not necessarily by a dog .

Can`t fault that idea actually.

This seems to have made the deadlines because the of the hammer thrown at the Cops.

The crime started with stealing the bike, somebodys pride and joy that they had spend mamy hours earning the money to pay for.

The police seem to dismiss the theft part as trivial, but if they treated it nore seriously then it wouldn't escallate to physicalattacks on them

Hopefully they will get a bit more for the aggravating behaviour, they will likely say they found it, unless they can tie them to the scene its hard to prove.

Don't get me wrong I'm sure it is them 😁 but I've been on jury service for twats and I've seen how it goes.

It doesn't matter what sentence(if any) they get .. It doesn't fix my sons bike!

Its already cost him £150 to get it out of the pound!

No but you would like to think that they get something that will inconvenience them, more, than 3hrs community service and a driving ban they wil continue to ignore.

I Feel sorry for your lad - having been on the receiving end of something similar myself. Unfortunately it is the innocent that carry the punishment and are far more inconvenienced than these yobs that steal moped and motorcycles.

As the saying goes, crime has risen constantly and the justice system hasn't followed, the law doesn't have a suitable punishment for these young offenders, but yet many think we have a criminal justice system.

Sorry it came back in such a state :(

Although I was glad to have my scooter recovered (thieves dumped it because they couldn't bypass the immobiliser I think), still the cost to retrieve it and fix it was hundreds of pounds, whilst the thieves were never caught..

I believe if you had friends who were willing to stand by not much happened apart from cramp. If you were unpopular and a known serial offender you could quite literally get stoned if not to death to a state of seriously damaged. Sounds like a winner to me.

We still have a set of working stocks in Bingley

Could do with being brought back into service

For as long it compensates to be a criminal thieves will always have a go.

Make punishment harder than the crime and you will have these individuals thinking twice.

One deterrent would be, instead of expensive jails in the UK that look more like a 3 star hotel. Send criminals to Thailand, Indonesia or the Philippines.

You will see how fast crime level will drop.

Think about spending 6 months in a prison in Thailand...

I've said this before 😁, I'm sure plenty of 3rd world countries would take them for a fraction of the cost over here.
