Fender1515 Posted June 24, 2023 Posted June 24, 2023 Hi Folks, My, many years old, digital tyre pressure gauge has gone rouge, batteries changed, readings vary from 38.5 psi, re-set, re-test 34.5 psi, put some air into tyre, re-test, 31.5 psi. re-set, re-test 38.5 psi. OK, so not a big issue on the wheelbarrow tyre, but, I am a bit fussy about tyre pressures on the bike. I have had a look on the notable websites, but wanted to ask out to the forum members for recommendation before I do a burn out out my savings account. Cheers, Quote
Mississippi Bullfrog Posted June 24, 2023 Posted June 24, 2023 I use a Halfords pump which can be set to the required pressure and stops when it is reached. It has a display built in so you can check the pressures. There are plenty of gauges and pumps to choose from and they're not hugely expensive. 1 Quote

Same but also check with little digital one to confirm. 1 1 Quote
V650 Posted June 25, 2023 Posted June 25, 2023 I have bought a few of these (5) from ali for family and all were within a psi of each other which is not bad I also have a Michelin branded analogue gauge which seems to be very poor and gives inconsistent readings every time it is used so I trust the cheapo digi alixpress one more https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32827111207.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.103.bcd61802D17vKw Same type here from Louis if you needed one quicker https://www.louis.ie/en/digital-tyre-pressure-gauge-10091763?filter_article_number=10091763 Thinking of picking up a TPMS for the bike as my voltage gauge has gone by way of the do do anyway so some of the tyre pressure monitoring have a built in voltage meter 1 Quote
Tiggie Posted June 25, 2023 Posted June 25, 2023 When I got my car tyres fitted last week I checked pressure when I got home. 39, 34 31, 37 They should all be 33 . Just laziness on garages part, I don't think I've ever had tyres inflated to correct pressure anywhere over the years, they just whack it on compressor until it looks full enough 2 Quote

keith1200rs Posted June 25, 2023 Posted June 25, 2023 I was stunned when my wife picked up her new car recently. I decided I ought to check the tyre pressures when cold next day. They were all correct! Quote
Fish Posted June 25, 2023 Posted June 25, 2023 I don't like digital gauges, I'm old and old skool so use one of these https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/497461 2 Quote
Stu Posted June 25, 2023 Posted June 25, 2023 I have one of these along with various other gauges and they all read the same so I recon they are all accurate https://www.halfords.com/pressure_gauge Quote
KiwiBob Posted June 25, 2023 Posted June 25, 2023 I keep one of these in my pocket .. It works for me. 1 Quote

You could always use a 90 degree adapter. Quote

JRH Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 I use an Oxford tyre gauge. Think it was a recommended buy in Ride magazine. Halfords sell them. It matches the reading on my digital gauge, but it is easer to get on the bike valves. https://www.halfords.com/motoring/motorcycling/motorcycle-accessories/oxford-tyre-gauge-pro-dial-type0-60psi-461054.html?_gl=1*1bgivsf*_up*MQ..*_ga*MTgyMDY5NTcwMS4xNjkwMjIzOTY1*_ga_VK44BRER97*MTY5MDIyMzk2Ni4xLjEuMTY5MDIyMzk4Ni4wLjAuMA.. daveinlim Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 I bought this off Amazon recently. Works well in the car and the bike as the hose is a decent size and the head of the nozzle rotates to make it easier to use. Quote
RideWithStyles Posted August 21, 2023 Posted August 21, 2023 Second jrh. oxford products, analogue with flexihose. Quote
Davidtav Posted August 22, 2023 Posted August 22, 2023 (edited) I bought this recently. No idea really how accurate it is. Been it seems nicely constructed and is easy to use. Head swivels to fit on the valve. Toifucos tyre pressure gauge £8.99 from Amazon Edited August 22, 2023 by Davidtav Quote
fullscreenaging Posted August 22, 2023 Posted August 22, 2023 I have this for bike https://tinyurl.com/45x6x36y and this one for the car originally, but swapped them round. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00N94L21U?ref=nb_sb_ss_w_as-reorder-mobile-t1_k0_1_7&=&crid=22OWF86LVECGW&=&sprefix=aa+tyre Both fit in my 5ltr tank bag. The AA one is a tiny bit bigger and is a bit of a squeeze but it’s more accurate being digital and auto shuts off. That’s why I swapped it to the bike. Quote

But the AA version is way cheaper on Amazon than Halfords sells them for. Quote
