Used to go there quite often but mainly Sumatra. Bonkers kind of place.

Each to his own but not a part of the world I'd like to live.  Do like Japan but by golly its expensive! Used to work with a German who lived in Lombok. He was a very average seaman but a world authority on silk worm moths and had discovered several new to science species in Lombok in the early 90's.

Yesterday we had a takeaway

this goes for probably 300 or 400 yards

Lots to choose from.

We had some vegetables roti

And an Indonesian speciality martabak on sweet version.

For those who have no idea what I'm talking about is like a 1in thick pancake folded in half and whatever you can think of to go inside...

I'm still waiting to hear that Stu has been made a knight of the realm in the New Year Honours list. For services to mental health and wellbeing by keeping this place on the road. 

 

It would be a better choice than the toads I have seen so far whose only contribution seems to have been to line their own pockets, or just do a job they are already well paid for.
