Fender1515 Posted March 14, 2024 Posted March 14, 2024 I seem to remember that the exhaust cans have to have a BS stamp to prove they are road legal, and pass MOT, I also seem to remeber being told you can buy them on flee bay, Not that I ever did or would I do remeber it sounded like a rocket taking off when you hit 6000 rpm, and the go faster valve opened up. Thems waz the happy days !!! 1 Quote
Simon Davey Posted March 14, 2024 Posted March 14, 2024 So, @Joe85 did you have a good blap about? Quote

Joe85 Posted March 14, 2024 Posted March 14, 2024 Also, finally got the bracket to hold the brake fluid reservoir, so was able to do away with the bar end mirrors. 4 Quote

MDUBZ Posted March 16, 2024 Posted March 16, 2024 Fitted some heated grips and went for a bit of a run to blow out the cobwebs ( me and the bike) earlier in the week; all booked in for a service next week, ahead of a new job/commute. Mmmmm toasty hands - why haven’t I done this before!?!?! 5 Quote
curlylegend Posted March 16, 2024 Posted March 16, 2024 Managed to accurately set float heights on my Yamaha TDM 850. Second picture shows the discrepancy which was giving a lumpy idle and a slight hesitancy under 2500 rpm. If you do get one of these float height gauges from Amazon don't expect them to be precision tools. I had to use a bit of ingenuity to remove the free play. 2 Quote
RideWithStyles Posted March 16, 2024 Posted March 16, 2024 cleaned the wifes cbf125, well i have used it the most for certain reasons and out of choice. most likely sell it, that or pay through the nose -and more for a three wheeler as a leisure toy... 1 Quote
Phil1 Posted March 19, 2024 Posted March 19, 2024 (edited) Doh, just ordered a new exhaust for the sv650. I'd been looking around for a while and settled on a GRmoto one. I thought about a second hand one but they're like rocking horse doo doo for an 04 model. They're reasonably priced and look half decent, much better than stock for my 04 with it's 90s style massive bean tin. Just had a browse on eBay and they've got 20% off everything in thier shop so it was a done deal Edited March 19, 2024 by Phil1 2 Quote
Joe85 Posted March 19, 2024 Posted March 19, 2024 Got a cheeky 5 day trip down to Strasbourg in April, so have ordered this for the bike: Quite a tidy little rack, and saves ruining the rear panels. 2 Quote

Fiddlesticks Posted March 19, 2024 Posted March 19, 2024 I broke my rule and bought a cheap open face helmet off of t'internet without trying it on first. Thought it would do for holidays, not wanting to entrust my Nolan to Ryanair's baggy handlers. Utter junk. Uncomfortable. Horrible inside and out. Sending it back. That'll learn me. 1 2 Quote
fastbob Posted March 19, 2024 Posted March 19, 2024 (edited) Finally got that damned screw out of the battery box and tightened my loose battery terminal . My fault for not looking properly and trying to use a Phillips on a Torx head . So now the polishing begins in earnest ready for that first dry weekend . Edited March 20, 2024 by fastbob 2 Quote

Hush - don't say the words 'dry weekend' out loud. I did that last April when I bought a mesh jacket ready for those long hot summer days. It's still got the tags on it hanging in the wardrobe. 3 1 Quote
Mississippi Bullfrog Posted March 20, 2024 Posted March 20, 2024 I have fitted the spinger seat for COC Customs, very impressive bit of kit, it's totally invisible. Then I thought I'd fit the progressive springs and preload caps from TEC. They say that the new springs are shorter than the originals so are easy to fit with the preload caps. But no - the springs are longer and it proved to be impossible to fit them without putting the forks in a workmate so I could put all my weight onto them to get the caps to fit. 4 Quote
oudafuq Posted March 20, 2024 Posted March 20, 2024 I took mine out for the first time today, not too bad to ride but I found the clutch really quite heavy to the point my hand started to hurt when in traffic hoping it’s an easy and cheap fix as I’m skint! 2 Quote
