I ordered a spare fuel container to carry on the Bobber. I was rather miffed to see the packaging.

No petrol included!

Just for interest  who'd you buy it off? I bought an item from Motea who gave me some spiel as to how fast it would be delivered and how there'd be nothing else to pay etc. This was a month ago and nothing received. The same evening I bought my crash bars from Heed in Poland. I received those on the next Friday morning. Think someone's taking the pee.

Anyway I'm now at war with Motea.

Fuel Friend. Took about 3 days from Germany.

The rack I ordered for the Bobber came from Japan in under 3 days. Ordered it Sunday evening, it arrived first thing Wednesday morning.

Did some research after the fact (silly me) and apparently  Motea have form for this. Lots of poor reviews and mine has been added to the list.

A bit of a warning about private medical treatment. I am personally against private medical treatment as I object to a two tier system but my 87 year old mother needed treatment and couldn't get anywhere with the NHS. On the basis that her quality of life is impacted and she can't take her money with her she arranged to have the treatment at a private clinic.

They explained the procedure and the cost, she agreed to go ahead and paid upfront.

Two days after the procedure (which so far hasn't made any difference) their accounts department rang telling her she her bill is due. She explained she'd paid it. Apparently the bill she had paid was for the consultant. They also charge separately for use of the room, which she was in for about 10 minutes. £850.

That's over £5 grand an hour to sit on a chair and have someone stick a needle in you.

On a similar theme, our daughter had treatment last year at a private clinic, which went disastrously wrong, at which point the clinic lost all interest and just told her to go to A&E.

At least bank robbers have the decency to wear a mask so you know you're being robbed.

My wife had major issues with varicose veins in both her legs. The NHS was completely disinterested so she went private. It cost about 5K and was totally successful. Like anything else I think you need to conduct a bit of research first and sadly there are shysters in every field. Funnily enough my daughter had similar issues last year and got it on the NHS but only because the RN seriously rattled some bars. Our NHS isn't really as good as it should be given the vast amount of money spent on it.

Sat waiting for a parcel today with no idea of when it will arrive

I spent the morning cleaning my boat covers. I have no idea how they get so filthy and slimy just sitting outside.

Having towed the dinghies home I realized the road trailer tyres are getting old so I'll need to buy new ones over the winter.

Also looking at buying a little grp Mirror for my wife to sail. The one she usually sails is quite a heavy boat and the current berth is on a steeper hill than our last one. I might buy an electric outboard and use it for a bit of fishing.

Good evening. We’ve been away wandering around the Coniston area of the Lake District. We usually meander up onto some of the Wainwright’s when we’re there but the low cloud meant the views wouldn’t be worth the effort. A good decision as the views from the lower level fella were quite magnificent.

I went up Helvellyn 3 times before I got to the top and could actually see anything other than mist, rain or on one occasion snow.
