onesea Posted November 19, 2020 Posted November 19, 2020 (edited) I am looking for a affordable set of trousers with knee hip & armour that are vaguely waterproof... However I want s set you can put on quickly & easily, without removing your boots... Strange request I know but it's for practical commuter reasons. Any suggestions? Fish Posted November 19, 2020 Posted November 19, 2020 Define 'affordable', everyone has a different £ amount Fish Quote
Bender Posted November 19, 2020 Posted November 19, 2020 https://www.planet-knox.com/product/ivan-waterproof-trousers/ I've got some knox stuff found it good Quote
Slowlycatchymonkey Posted November 19, 2020 Posted November 19, 2020 Walked through a waterfall in Knox waterproofs and didn’t get wet! Mind you they weren’t armoured trousers, they were just waterproofs so not a lot of use here. Good stuff though. Quote

onesea Posted November 19, 2020 Author Posted November 19, 2020 These are not as work trousers.. they are to go over trousers to keep me dry and give protection incase of an off on way to work... Presently I wear work uniform trousers which don't offer much protection. I don't ride to work in rain and cannot take long way home. Used a "suitably" deliberately a grey expression as it depends upon how useable they are.. Quote
fastbob Posted November 20, 2020 Posted November 20, 2020 Sounds like the sort of thing I do . You have designed something in your head only to discover that it doesn't exist . Quote
Mississippi Bullfrog Posted November 20, 2020 Posted November 20, 2020 I've not seen overtrousers with armour. All mine are just waterproofs I put on over my usual kit to keep the worst of the wet and mud off. Quote
Ian Frog Posted November 20, 2020 Posted November 20, 2020 Yes the ones in the link posted by @Bender do look very interesting, hopefully I can find someone with some in stock as they probably bear looking at in the flesh so to speak. Cheers Ian Quote

That might have more truth than I would like to admit, when you see that I have found.... 8 hours ago, fastbob said: Sounds like the sort of thing I do . You have designed something in your head only to discover that it doesn't exist . I have found something that would do (no hip or knee armour), its a matter of finding the right search term... However, I don't think they are quite my style (womens logic)... https://uk.vikingcycle.com/collections/mens-leather-motorcycle-chaps/products/viking-cycle-plain-motorcycle-leather-chaps Search term used "Mens Chaps" just be careful some search results may not be safe for work.... 1 Quote

geofferz Posted December 16, 2020 Posted December 16, 2020 Eh? I used to have armoured buffalo waterproof trousers that you can wear as is or over jeans. Jacket too, no problem. £100 for each item I think. The crotch got a bit damp but they were deffo vaguely waterproof, especially with a top up of nikwax spray. Quote

Can you do this easily without removing your boots? I have trousers as you describe what I would like to be able to do is leave my boots on. I am not so fussed about water proof, if its that wet I will use the car. Quote
