Fish Posted November 22, 2020 Posted November 22, 2020 (edited) So with Black Friday coming up I thought I'd look for recommendations for some warmer boots. I'm currently wearing some TCX Junipters which are waterproof gore-tex urban type boots. With the colder weather I found my toe tips getting cold, but I'm more concerned about the wind on my achilles. Don't fancy those getting tight and snapping, so what boots are recommended? Need to be waterproof and fit under some over-trousers. Thanks Fish Edited November 22, 2020 by Fish Quote
manxie49 Posted November 22, 2020 Posted November 22, 2020 If the boots you're wearing are ok, waterproof, have you thought of something such as Lenz heated socks? From what I recall they're not cheap but seemed to get good reviews. Quote
fullscreenaging Posted November 22, 2020 Posted November 22, 2020 I’ve had a pair of these for the last 2 years. Fab boots. Warm & comfortable. https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/363590/#/27907,3203,1186 1 Quote
raesewell Posted November 22, 2020 Posted November 22, 2020 One boot is not going to be much warmer than another, the best thing you can do is wear winter sock or as already suggested go for heated socks or boot liners. Quote
Ian Frog Posted November 22, 2020 Posted November 22, 2020 Hi @Fish I have been using these for a while including in some torrential rain for over 2 hours and can`t really fault them. Not sure ablout going under trousers but I think the price point isn`t too bad. Forma Adventure Boots - Black - FREE UK DELIVERY (sportsbikeshop.co.uk) Also not bad for waliking about in which I have had issues with bike boots in the past. Cheers Ian 1 Quote
learningtofly Posted November 22, 2020 Posted November 22, 2020 Late to the party, but if you want something to keep your hamstrings warm then something like this might fit the bill. 1 1 Quote

I got them because they were the most comfortable of the ones I tried and they felt ok walking in. Cheers Ian Quote

Bender Posted November 24, 2020 Posted November 24, 2020 I've got some tcx calf length boots, they are very warm and comfy, not made anymore. Thing with feet is they don't generate heat well, as we got older circulation decreases, I feel the cold much more in my fingers now than I ever used to. Boots are very specific things, I think as soon as places are open a try on session is in order 1 Quote
Guest Posted November 24, 2020 Posted November 24, 2020 Forma Adventure boots + Smartwool mountaineering extra heavy crew socks 1 Quote

Last time it took me literally 2 hours trying on boots before finding a pair that suited me. Shoes usually take me a few minutes but boots need to be just right. For warmth go a size up and wear extra socks. Boots themselves are never that warm. You don't need to spend a fortune, I had a pair of RST Paragons that I was never cold in, and I ride all winter. onesea Posted December 2, 2020 Posted December 2, 2020 Another idea no one has touched on is heated soles... https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2047675.m570.l1311&_nkw=heated+insoles&_sacat=0 I tried a pair with remote battery and found that the ones I bought I could feel the wire connection within by boot after a whilst... Keeps the toes warm though... Quote
Slowlycatchymonkey Posted December 2, 2020 Posted December 2, 2020 I have the keis ones. Used to use them all the time on my 125 but noticed leg warmers trap the heat in the boot and I’ve not plugged them in for about 2 years now. The dancing’s optional. Quote
