So with Black Friday coming up I thought I'd look for recommendations for some warmer boots. I'm currently wearing some TCX Junipters which are waterproof gore-tex urban type boots.

With the colder weather I found my toe tips getting cold, but I'm more concerned about the wind on my achilles. Don't fancy those getting tight and snapping, so what boots are recommended?

Need to be waterproof and fit under some over-trousers.

Thanks Fish

If the boots you're wearing are ok, waterproof, have you thought of something such as Lenz heated socks?  From what I recall they're not cheap but seemed to get good reviews.

One boot is not going to be much warmer than another, the best thing you can do is wear winter sock or as already suggested go for heated socks or boot liners.

Hi @Fish

I have been using these for a while including in some torrential rain for over 2 hours and can`t really fault them.

Not sure ablout going under trousers but I think the price point isn`t too bad.

Forma Adventure Boots - Black - FREE UK DELIVERY (sportsbikeshop.co.uk)

Also not bad for waliking about in which I have had issues with bike boots in the past.

Cheers

I've adjusted the first post as it's been a long day and got my achilles and hamstring mixed up.... Both part of the leg in my books 😉

I suppose they could be described as an endure boot but I think they were aimed at touring with some off road capability.

I got them because they were the most comfortable of the ones I tried and they felt ok walking in.

I've got some tcx calf length boots, they are very warm and comfy, not made anymore.

Thing with feet is they don't generate heat well, as we got older circulation decreases, I feel the cold much more in my fingers now than I ever used to.

Boots are very specific things, I think as soon as places are open a try on session is in order

Very true. Last time it took me literally 2 hours trying on boots before finding a pair that suited me. Shoes usually take me a few minutes but boots need to be just right. For warmth go a size up and wear extra socks. Boots themselves are never that warm. You don't need to spend a fortune, I had a pair of RST Paragons that I was never cold in, and I ride all winter.
