Remember my old ER5 ? The red one that I did up and went to Scotland on ? The one I did the engine build and swap on ? The one I sold for £ 500 ? Well look what I've just found on eBay . I don't know whether to laugh or cry . https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Kawasaki-ER500-500-ER-sports-touring-motorcycle-/284132165577?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49292

Take it as a compliment that your work still looks good and the value has gone up.

When I was looking to get my bike I kept seeing your comments about er5 and kept looking and all the ones I could see were as much as my zzr and over. A grand. You could absolutely make money buying them tarting up and selling.

Tyre is black round  and hardly marked ?😀

you mean it's got a new hoop

It's probably gone up in price due to have a famous previous owner.

I've noticed that bikes of that era are increasing in value. I paid £1500 for my CBF and similar bikes now, four years later, are all over £2k.

Still looks mint @fastbob

Also it shows you robbed yourself!

You should be proud its worth that much though

Keep in mind that 2nd hand bikes in Scotland are more expensive than in England.

No , it's far from round . Look again . It's wavey .

@fastbob, did you sell the bike on to another member of this forum?

I did . For £500 .

What I'm basically highlighting here is that I genuinely thought that £500 was a fair price but someone has just paid nearly double that for the same bike with nothing altered except a new chain and sprocket set .

My thoughts exactly .

its being sold by a dealership.. it will always have a higher end price from such a vendor. dealer book price is always higher than private.

Tyre is flat and has been for a while and where it's been in that position for a while and then moved

No . It's wavey all the way round . I pointed this out when I sold the bike .
