I've just been offered and accepted a job! :thumb:

It'll be a while I have to be security cleared, it's less money!

but it's local ( 2 miles from home) it's days and it's office or even possibly home based!

I am so relieved!

I have cider!  :classic_biggrin: :thumb:

Well done 👍

Well done that man. Working days and more time at home is worth a lot.

Congratulations. Does the saving in travel costs and wasted time balance out the drop in salary?

I think so! just about! If I take off fuel, time and wear and tear etc. it'll be close.

Then the added bonus of flexi-time, all days, office/home based should make it better I hope.

I'm not expecting the security clearance to be a problem but apparently it can take weeks!

I'm still getting my head around it! part of me didn't really think I'd get another job at my age! :classic_biggrin:

Age should never be a factor, but your undoubted experience would have been. Really chuffed that you’ve got yourself sorted.

I never expected to get back into work after the bowel cancer, so took early retirement and my private pension, but couldn't stand doing nothing all day so started looking for a job and I'm glad I did.

Nice one @rennie!
Clearance can take ages, but go and make the most of the next few weeks off before you start.

Yes! that's the plan :classic_biggrin: we're off in the campervan tomorrow! :thumb:

1 night near sherringham then a weekend with lots of family in Diss including

going to Roydon Soundwaves for the 3rd year running

Then home for a few days then 5 nights away in the van again in Somerset I think ( lots of sites with no availability).

I don't have an actual start date yet:scratch:
