S-Westerly Posted May 4, 2024 Posted May 4, 2024 Getting enraged by lying bast*rd oil terminals. Turns out there's two ships ahead of us in the queue which they've known about for a week. Instead of telling me that from the beginning they only told me once I arrived off Rotterdam and anchored. Spent most of last week arranging crew changes and a load of work that needs doing with 7 different sub-contractors which is all now having to be rescheduled for the 7th / 8th. I'm furious; you could even say I'm having conniptions. 2 1 4 Quote

I like Rome, been a few times, that looks a bit like one of our taxi rides from the airport, lovely woman, 3 mobile phones, chain smoker , could smoke, talk on 2 phones, give drivers the finger, curse like a trooper and swerved round an accident like it was a challenge to clip the apex. Fish Posted May 6, 2024 Posted May 6, 2024 Sitting at home watching Mission: Impossible (original TV series) as it's hissing down outside, which cancels any mayday fun run. Even only heard a couple of bikes riding around, and not the normal every couple of minutes noises Quote

Mississippi Bullfrog Posted May 9, 2024 Posted May 9, 2024 Saturday looks great so far as the weather is concerned. So I'm stuck doing another safeguarding course because every organisation I volunteer for won't accept the safeguarding training I've already done with every other organisation. Same with DBS checks. They're meant to be transferable but every organisation says they want to do their own. The new regs coming out of the Manchester Arena bombing where the security was woeful mean that anyone involved in public venues needs to do counter terrorism training. At least because that's still in its early days means that there is very few accredited courses so once you've got that certificate it's transferable. 2 3 Quote
S-Westerly Posted May 9, 2024 Posted May 9, 2024 (edited) My wife is volunteering at a primary school and has to undergo some kind of vetting which is fair enough when you are dealing with 5 year olds. Probably terrorist negotiating strategy too given the average 5 y.o. Edited May 9, 2024 by S-Westerly 1 4 Quote

Simon Davey Posted May 9, 2024 Posted May 9, 2024 I'm taking my Knox Orsa back to J&s, I've tried them on a few times, and one glove didn't seem right. I found a defect today, surprising poor quality control for £100 gloves. Otherwise, they're damn gorgeous on the hand. 1 Quote
