Where to find a ride buddy

Hi,

im looking to do a week - 10 day trip on a rented bike in Kyrgyzstan in June next year.

I’ve no pals with a bike licence sadly, does anyone know where I’d be best placed to potentially find someone who might want to join?

Wow, what an amazing trip!

What kind of bike are you planning to hire? Is it going to be strictly tarmac, or dirt tracks as well? I ask because there are some bike-specific and/or off-road forums that have areas where people get together for this kind of trip.

Sounds like an amazing trip....Are there any local m/cycle clubs in your area?  If so, good place to start.  Other than that try advertising in one of the local rags or there's a couple of groups on Facebook if you use it.  I understand the problems you have,  I like touring but most of my mates are just into sport bike riding,  good bunch for a ride out but not into riding across on the continent or going any real distances.  Also try this page, see if it helps  https://www.meetup.com/topics/motorcycle-riding/gb/

Perhaps I'm looking at this from a Asperger's perspective but I can't imagine anything more awkward than teaming up with a complete stranger on such a trip . What if they turn out to be a complete ar*ehole but you only find out when it's too late ?
