Fozzie Posted March 1, 2022 Posted March 1, 2022 Favourite chippy is in my home town Lymm, and last I was there I paid £6.50 for a fish and regular chips (big helpings of chips). A can of Lilt zero on top takes it to £7.20. And Lymm is not the little quiet village, with a pokey Somerfields and family owned butchers/florists anymore. It has suffered the influx of high end bars, and restaurants, but the price hasn't rocketed. It remains stubbornly there, old signage and all. Quote

manxie49 Posted March 1, 2022 Posted March 1, 2022 Prices have just gone up at my local chippy. Good chip shop but like everything else, prices going up almost on a weekly basis. Quote

Steve_M Posted March 1, 2022 Posted March 1, 2022 I went* to the Lazy Hill fish bar on the Walsall Wood Rd in Aldridge, West Midlands, to buy our lunch today. Haddock was £5.20. * I hasten to add that I didn’t travel all the way from Cumbria just to buy lunch there. 1 Quote

onesea Posted August 12, 2023 Posted August 12, 2023 Apparently a local fish and chip van has opened up in a local pub beer garden. Fish and Chips £16.95 with “proper” mushy peas or curry sauce. It was the cost of the Extras: One observation to find decent fish and chips on a budget, look for a Chippy on the edge of a large council estate. The one in a row of shops where you double check your cars locked and the kids outside are smoking, drinking some kind of alcohol whilst talking about there next high. 1 2 Quote
Throttled Posted August 13, 2023 Posted August 13, 2023 A regular fish and chips at our favourite, the Fish Box in Whitby is £9.90. Locally it is £7. Quote
