husoi Posted August 13, 2021 Posted August 13, 2021 I hate when I'm right!!! Months ago told my GP that he should change my happy meds. For over 1 year I've been in pain relief drugs and around 6 months ago I told him that he should prescribe something a wee bit stronger so I can have longer intervals. But what do I know about my body and meds??? Yesterday, because been on happy drugs for so long I went to see Dracula and have some blood tests. This morning got a call of one of the other doctors saying that I need to stop the ones I'm on and have a stronger ones so I can have a longer interval between intakes.. PHOOKING EEGIT!!!!!!! 1 1 Quote

One thing I have found is that docs don't like it when you tell them what you want/need! Quote

The second one was fine and explained why he was advising the new ones. When a doctor asks you "How are you?" when you walk in the consultation room, you know that he isn't the sharpest in the box... 1 Quote

When my doc diagnosed me with Bells Palsy last year about 4 weeks later I told him it was Ramsey Hunt Syndrome which is far far worse! He just shrugged it off! Fast forward a year I finally got to see an ENT consultant who said its Ramsey Hunt Syndrome! well actually I told him and he agreed! I have now being left with permanent week facial muscles and permanent nerve damage! unfortunately this can happen and there is no saying if any action between the last 18 months could have helped Although physio should have been started sooner than it did 2 Quote

Mickly Posted August 15, 2021 Posted August 15, 2021 Bleugh, not been well at all. Went to bed on Thursday night & the room started spinning despite not having had a drink - could only get to the loo by crawling as I couldn’t stand. Still bad on Friday morning, so got a phone consultation with the Doc who diagnosed ‘Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo’ so got some meds & a leaflet on some exercises I need to do. Only been out of bed for the loo since. This morning I managed to wobble to the loo without hanging onto the wall, so slowly getting better, and feel well enough to try the exercises. Thank goodness for Test Match Special, as all I could do was lie down with my eyes closed. 1 Quote

When I had similar symptoms it was labyrinthitis, but it took a face to face consultation with a medic to get it diagnosed properly. Very unpleasant. 1 Quote
rennie Posted August 15, 2021 Posted August 15, 2021 Good Evening We had a really good weekend but working Sunday night is getting harder and harder Quote
Tiggie Posted August 15, 2021 Posted August 15, 2021 @rennie Feeling that way with my job. I still like the work but I have missed an uncountable amount of family events over last few years as they always plan them on Friday or Saturday nights when normal people aren't working 2 Quote
