onesea Posted December 17, 2022 Author Posted December 17, 2022 (edited) Well I wait with bated breath, if there is any more to this years Christmas “thank you” / “bonus”. Working Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Eve and New Year’s Day the 2nd year running. Edited December 17, 2022 by onesea Quote
rennie Posted December 17, 2022 Posted December 17, 2022 no bonus as such! but I did get a free day off 1 Quote
S-Westerly Posted December 17, 2022 Posted December 17, 2022 What is this Christmas bonus of which you speak? Some urban legend perhaps? I'm working every day anyway but it looks as if on Christmas I'll be picking my way through the South China Sea, discharging in Malaysia on Boxing Day and probably back loading in Singapore on New Year. About par for the course. 4 1 Quote
fullscreenaging Posted December 17, 2022 Posted December 17, 2022 (edited) £760 bonus plus £35 Amazon gift voucher. I’ve taken my last shift and a bit off as holiday so I finish at 2am on Wed morning and back on the 3rd after shutdown. Decent really. Edited December 17, 2022 by fullscreenaging 4 Quote
Bianco2564 Posted December 17, 2022 Posted December 17, 2022 We all got a grand, after i "donated" 20% to HMRC to spend wisely, bought new tyres for Mrs car, bit towards tyres on my car and replaced the sofa cushions. 3 Quote
Fish Posted December 17, 2022 Posted December 17, 2022 Got a chrimbo box of food goodies, not really a hamper but better than nowt. Just finished a long day in Manchester and now back home in London. No more until the 3rd Jan for this one 2 Quote
Tigs Posted December 17, 2022 Posted December 17, 2022 No bonus - not working Christmas day. My Team leader - sent a card to the second in command - thanking the team - he didn't even email or message his thanks. I don't know - just felt a little appreciation would have gone a long way. 1 1 Quote
Throttled Posted December 18, 2022 Posted December 18, 2022 No bonus for me in my Community Meals job. The usual chocolates and sweets from the clients is also way down on previous years, but that is hardly surprising. Quote

The days of booze and have probably gone, then with port & cargo ops the next day that's probably a good thing. My daughter reports her schools free "Christmas Prefects Breakfast" thank you, rated better than 4 child's chocolates bars. Edited December 18, 2022 by onesea Quote
Steve_M Posted December 18, 2022 Posted December 18, 2022 I got £10 from the Department or Work and Pensions. Paid for, no doubt, by all you hard working tax payers. So thank you and Merry Christmas to one and all. 1 4 Quote

No booze ever and Christmas is just another working day especially as we won't be out in the big blue. Quote
Yorky Posted December 19, 2022 Posted December 19, 2022 BBQ's verboten, on an oil tanker, I wonder why?? 2 Quote

Fozzie Posted December 20, 2022 Posted December 20, 2022 I mentioned elsewhere, I won an award at work. Which came with a prize. This month I'm now up an extra £1250. Which after it is taxed to hell, will go towards a holiday to Japan in the Spring. My girlfriend has booked it all as it's her dream destination, and she turns 30 while out there. So I'll need to be upping my game for a present. It was that, or afford to put the heating on for 2 hours. 2 4 Quote

I was there on business in the early 1990s and it took me until 2018 to finally get there for a holiday - for my 60th birthday 1 Quote

Vietnam, Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia and Japan being the big ones. But she's never done Japan, and that's the biggest on the list. I reckon I'm weirder, one of my holiday ideas is to leave me somewhere with a chunk of money that would normally have paid for fancy hotels, like Vietnam, or Alaska for example. And then I find a bike and ride cross country, even if it's a tiny 125. I've not got a big enough breaks in my work schedule to allow that though as it would be a good 3-4 weeks. And it's not everyones idea of a holiday. 2 Quote
Erin0110 Posted December 22, 2022 Posted December 22, 2022 My Christmas bonus is flower delivery almost everyday, it's my and my husband tradition. In case anyone needs it, after all, there are a lot of holidays now, then here https://myexpressflowers.co.uk/ I also like chocolate 3 Quote
