(I dont mean to ruffle any feathers if anything bad had happened)

If it’s the one I am thinking of from Spain or somewhere, liked old railways.

He is fine went of on his own set up another forum.  Some members went with him some stayed here, some flit between the 2.

Occasional spy’s are reported to appear from one camp or other.  There is talk it’s not the first time he’s done it, started another forum.

Last I heard he was fine and enjoying running his own forum.

If he liked you he would of invited you over like he did half of this forum…. Then it might be someone else your asking about…..

Obviously didn't like me then. 😂

This morning I had to wash the bike BEFORE heading out, it was genuinely that dirty. Off into N Wales to play out with a mate now.....just waiting for him at our usual meeting point.

Refitted carbs, struggled to get one clamp tightened right up but hopefully tight enough. Test run was all good with no fuel leaks so all bits reconnected, new fuel filter fitted and cleaned the k&n  just leaving that to dry. Airbox  cleaned and back on.

Yesterday went to a 160 miles round trip to Duns.

Down the A68 there was a sea of fallen trees 🙄

Sat got myself (finally) a nice torque wrench from Aldi (other brands are available) 😎

4 to 210 nm that will cover all the range for both Honda :thumb:

The Honda workhorse has been looking a bit sorry for itself recently after winter roads. So as this morning was quiet I washed it, polished the chrome bits, fitted a new exhaust clamp where the last one has rotted off, painted the forks, radiator sides and downpipes, gave it a dose of ACF50 and topped up the chain oiler.

It actually looks half presentable for once.

Replaced the broken indicator on the RGV that the grandson knocked off a while ago.

Fired it up, filled the garden up with 2 stroke smoke and rode it 10feet back into the garage.

About 3 weeks ago I had my bike serviced by the main Ducati dealer closest to me. I wasn't particularly pleased with it especially when I had my back tyre and chain / sprockets changed a week later and the things found then. The final straw was today. At the time of service the dealer pointed out that the headlight flasher switch didn't appear to work and that it was an mot issue.  They quoted me £203 for the switch plus labour on account it was a sealed unit. I declined as I knew it had 2 Allen screws holding the 2 parts together.  To get to the point I invested 5 quid in contact cleaner and 30 minutes of my life taking the switch apart (not sealed), cleaning it and reassembling it. Stealers or what?

I got an email yesterday about an autohelm self steering arm for my boat that had been taken in for repair last summer. It simply said don’t bother buy a new one it will be cheaper. I went online and found one for less than I’d expected to pay for a repair and much less than I was expecting a new one to cost so if it turns up as promised that will be a good result.

The Bobber doesn't have a headlight flasher switch. Yet it passed the MOT no problem.

Good call on knowing the switch could be dismantled. I had to do something similar with my front brake switch last MOT.

I think a lot of Ducati owners especially for the sports bikes are the kind who just let the dealer take charge and then throw money at them.  IMO they get ripped off badly. Rumour has it BMW are similar. I'm a tight bast*rd and begrudge spending a penny more than I have to. Fortunately for me I have been pushed in the direction of Motovation in Cheltenham who covers Italian bikes for a fraction of the price of main dealers. Where I'll be going next.

Good to find a specialist whose not manufacturer linked. Just had my 11yo fiat bravo mot'd after recent work and annual services of my local alfa/fiat one man outfit sailed through. People knock fiat but it still drives great and he tends to know and niggles and can get spares I'll run it until its not viable 130k miles and it's still as sweet as a nut!

BMW - break my wallet

I hear rumour there own brand sat nav, can only navigate between BMW dealers.

So the sales men can ply you with free coffee.  Whilst freezing your wallet for more accessories a service and maybe even another bike.

You get sold an expensive bike that can do 1000’s of miles however as soon as it gets to 10,000 they recommend you protect your investment and buy a new one!

I've been mulling over an RNineT as a long-term prospect of late, gradually shifting away from my Kawa 900rs fantasy. The main thing stopping full conversion is my experience with BMW dealers via my missus' Mini.

Started at Maidstone meeting up with a mate, then off to Whitstable, Herne Bay, Canterbury, Dover and down the Dungeness to the Pilot for dinner. Circa 180 miles on a fecking windy (blown sideways many a time) day.

Then to finish it off, 3 corners from home a w@nker jumps a roundabout and almost takes me out! Then starts flashing and tail gating me.... so I poodle around the houses to the police station where he does a sharp left and leaves me alone! Cock
