We've heard it all before haven't we? Quote

husoi Posted December 30, 2020 Posted December 30, 2020 Indirectly related to the bikes. Finally I managed to clear and clean the worktop. Look how much space I have 1 Quote

Managed to extract a couple of stills but the quality is not great. Road was very unexciting M4 but weather made it a bit more interesting. I can claim individualism on the basis nobody else was daft enough to be out on a bike. Edited December 30, 2020 by S-Westerly 5 Quote

I made it out today, not so rugged being a southern softy it was 3c with no snow. How ever I can claim a bonus as my daughter request it. She managed the cold quite well. 1 Quote

Throttled Posted December 30, 2020 Posted December 30, 2020 (edited) Took the cover off, ran the engine, pushed it up and down the path, took off some rust and then pout it away again. There is way too much salt on the roads to take it out. The local council have even started to grit the side roads and carparks where I live, which they did not do previously. Wife was using her car so bike was only option. Can't say it was exactly fun but all my kit worked as advertised so that was a plus. Just my toes were absolutely bloody frozen. Now investigating toe warmers but not planning a test anytime soon! Quote

I can remember riding in conditions like that when the bike was my only form of transport for work. However have been caught in that stuff a couple of years ago on the Fosse way by Burford. Forecast was no chance of snow south of Derby, they lied. ‘‘Twas not nice. Edited December 31, 2020 by JRH 1 Quote

JRH Posted January 1, 2021 Posted January 1, 2021 @XTreme Went out for what has become a traditional New Years ride. A balmy 1.5 deg C and blue skies when I set off. soon became dull over caste and it drizzled. Still managed 3 tags. 3 Quote
S-Westerly Posted January 1, 2021 Posted January 1, 2021 We had snow again this morning and as I had nowhere I had to be stayed home in the warm drinking coffee. 1 Quote

Trailer have the cooling box, the toolbox with the battery for the lights and the right-hand side pannier for the St1300 so I can walk between the bikes. And no! There is no pile of crap All cleaned and tied up before end of the year Just had to stretch my arms so it gets more in the picture. Quote

Rode my Thundercat in snow years ago, and more recently my Fazer 600. At one point I only used bikes for getting around, didn't own a car at all, and got frozen regularly! Didn't get much beyond stuffing a newspaper down the front of my leather jacket and gritting my teeth. Ah, youth! Quote
linuxrob Posted January 3, 2021 Posted January 3, 2021 Well that time of the month again. GS125 Oil change plus chain clean and lub. We have had some really wet and gritty roads over this month and looks a good 10 days of frost and well salted roads ahead. Gave the bike a good wash and re gt-85 Took the chain off and dunked it into the old engine oil reheated in my charity shop deep fat fryer. Kept the temp to under 100C and gave it a good scrub with an old toothbrush. After a few mins took it out and wiped the chain down while hot. Warmed up some ep-90 gear oil in my little dropper with boiling water and oiled the side plates an rollers while hung up, then refitted/ Wiped the chain down with an old sock and there we go till next month.
