My son’s girlfriend is a paramedic. Some of her tales of being messed around both by work and the public are many and varied.

Public services jobs are just a paycheque now I'm afraid it's frustrating at best and depressing at worst trying to do your job. Too much meddling, selective press scrutiny which equals not being able to effectively do a job

My brother was a paramedic in London during the 2011 riots. One of his highlights during those nights was working on a man who had been stabbed while his friends were busy smashing up the cab and motor of the ambulance my brother arrived in

I remember those, I lived in London and the fires were visible from the office. There were groups of youngsters running into the roads to block the path of police/ambulances for fun. Was in the local paper a few days later that they'd blocked an ambulance carrying a motorist who had a heart attack at the wheel, and they didn't survive. He didn't work in the Sudbury hill area did he?

@Fozzie I don't know where he worked from, I'd guess not in Sudbury Hill area as he used to live in Woolwich and would cycle in. I don't think any of the emergency services had it easy during that time. From what I gather it was a pretty traumatic experience

Lesson learnt today - always read the instructions.

I wanted a rear rack for the Bobber. There's a company in Japan make one that is perfect, but could I get the order to go through - nope. Tried many times. Until I checked the security code box which just needed me to confirm my mobile number. Then it worked fine. Silly boy.

I'm looking forward to telling my beloved that Ive just spend nearly 20 grand on my bike. And wait for her to calm down before I tell her it's in Yen.

Good evening!

Been a bit distracted today, surfing eBay for bikes as I prepare to do up, and sell my Blackbird. I quite fancy a small Honda CB-1, the little CBR400 engines Hornet style bike from the 90s. It looks like they originally tried to style it in a futuristic way, but looks anything but, and it's made it oddly pretty.

But then I'm checking prices on RS250's and Tuono 125 2-strokes. Think I'm going to start a collection of crap bikes
