Well its now official I am the owner of an R1200RT

Pick it up on Tuesday

I went to look at it yesterday and put a deposit down pending a test ride today and comparing it to the FJR its so much better in everyway! It feels lighter despite being heavier it handles effortlessly and soaks up the crap roads as if you are floating on a carpet!

As a result I had to have it :D

So you’ve grown a beard, started smoking a pipe & using your incontinence pads for as long as possible?

Nice bike, a great power house to take you anywhere with ease. I thought it would have been lighter than the big ol bird of an FJR 😀

I had the old R1100RT and that was as smooth as silk and took me to Italy and back with ease a few times. 👍

Its not got as much go as the FJR but the power curve is different and the usable power is right where you need it :D

Nice choice. I had an FJR before buying my GS and, like you, thought it was better in almost every respect. With hindsight I do wonder if I should have gone for the RT...

I do like the white ones as well and they had a very nice one in that was within budget but it had no top box which then made it a no go and they wouldn't throw one in

Looks great and the weather is perfect for some long rides out. I'm just getting used to my new Africa Twin different to my tracer in many ways but all good at the moment

Nice looking bike indeed. I wonder why the previous owner decided to add that ridiculously big BMW logo on the side when there is already one perfectly on the fairings. 🤣
