My wife and I took the 4 children camping to Haxey Quays campsite ... 17, 11, 9 and 3. We had great time, the middle two playing out with hoards of other children until midnight Friday and Saturday nights .. The youngest girls teacher came wandering past on Saturday morning with his 12 year old twin boys and his 3 year old boy triplets ... !! I cooked sausage sandwiches for all of us as his wife had a lay in ...lol Over 300 people on site and not a mask to be seen .... But the serious thought Jules and I had on Sunday morning ... why was the campsite completely White ..... ?? You mean it snowed? Quote

geofferz Posted June 15, 2021 Posted June 15, 2021 Ragged the titts off it. Yesterday, but still. Way prefer to it the new car which, whilst fun for a car, is less fun even than a 125. 5 Quote

gymwitch Posted June 16, 2021 Posted June 16, 2021 Put the facebook marketplace bargain Frank Thomas panniers on Ripley £35 squids...mint with waterproof covers. Just need the straps a tad longer though as they sit too high atm. 1 Quote

Starting to see similarities Particularly numbers 1-5, Bennetts: best-touring-motorcycles Although having said that £35 for panniers is a good price. Just watch they will chafe on the paintwork. They also match in with the bike and will look good. Having a touring bike with panniers the amount of time they spend carrying things is very low most of the time they are helmet stores at the shops. However when they are used for purposes they are needed. Looks like you have best of both worlds. 1 Quote

I also carry quite a bit of gym gear around from time to time and shop from day to day. They are well away from any paint work too as they are on the pannier racks. Yes i could have got a bike probably more suited for the job but this one felt a good fit and was convenient to buy along with Andys Tracer from the same place. We got quite a bit knocked off for buying 2 bikes. I did sit on the nc750x but found it too tall, having said that once i get used to this one id probably be fine with a taller bike. 1 Quote
linuxrob Posted June 16, 2021 Posted June 16, 2021 Refitted the steering damper back on the Z500. Had a test ride round the country roads and remembered how well it used to handle on these uneven roads. note to self, "never take it off again". Rearsets to cleanup and refit next. 1 Quote

Looks like you will get loads I them. 2 Quote

husoi Posted June 18, 2021 Posted June 18, 2021 Fitted a bolt in the vacuum port of the shadow. Cutting a long story short, I'm an eegit and removed the bolt to tune the carbs and forgot to put it back. Now it is running properly. Quote
husoi Posted June 18, 2021 Posted June 18, 2021 The second task was to finish the new hinges for the trailer. Nickel platted so it won't rust, Then fitted onto the trailer. From the outside you won't see much Inside, there is plenty space for the bolts and the cover have a good clearance I'm sure that with 2mm thickness it will take a lot to break it Stress test to around 85 kg and didn't bulge Then press it in the vice and same result. Don't ask me how strong is the vice It is now ready for another trip 1 Quote
